Hmmm... To be or not to be...
Ah, sorry folks, a new problem has arised.
Drandolph recently gave me the idea to lower the xB I plan on getting 2" in the rear and 2and1/2" in the front; originally I had planned on 1" all around.
I think his idea sounds great, but I'd probably go with 1" in the back and 1and1/2" in the front, just to play it safe.
Along with this, my thoughts of getting 17" rims has also changed. I now want 18" rims or larger, perhaps.
Now, what I want to ask all of you Box fanatics is whether or not lowering the rear and front at different measures would be dangerous to the car in any way.
I would like to hear everybody's opinion on if you guys think this idea is appropriate for me, a simple guy who drives a lot.
I just want to make sure that once I buy the xB I don't do anything that will be bad for it. I want to have it for a long long time.
Feel free to give me advice as to what types of springs to buy and what size rims would be appropriate, as to keep the tires from any possible scraping.
Thanks!
Bob
PS - If my last post actually showed up, I apologize for reposting such a similar topic... I couldn't find it, so I figured I must have forgotten to submit it...

Damn, man. Had no idea everybody was ____ed off that I was asking for opinions. I thought that was the point of having an xB forum. To educate those who know little about the car. Was simply asking opinions, not saying that I was going to go with whatever you guys told me.
To be honest, though. The fact that you would jump on here and say I ____ed everybody off with my last thread (I don't even know which one you're talking about) shows me that you have some major issues.
Not once did I say anything inappropriate towards the people on this site, nor did I ever try to put anybody down.
I do know one thing, xB's are pretty light.
Lets play a game! Simon says put your xB on a lift, stand underneath it, and then find somebody to drop it on you, as a gesture of good will. Think of it as a way to test your own durability against the weight of the xB. Be sure to post pictures afterwards.
As Emerol would say, "Bam!"
Keep in mind, the whole drop an xB on your head thing was a joke. I'm not a jerk, just a little angry with you.
Thanks again for your kindness Simon, but let everybody else speak for themselves.
I just feel like there's enough room in these forums for everybody to post what they want, as long as it follows the rules and regulations of ScionLife's site. I read the rules and I've followed them.
That Simon, what a guy.

Damn, Simon... Funny thing is you were the guy who had actually taken a good amount of time trying to help me out before.
i.e., the timing chain information you provided and informing me just how much I was being overpriced by the dealership for the add-ons.
:?
I apologize for REPOSTING, as you put it. I also apologize for snapping at you, as little as I did. Only reason I snapped was because I thought that you quoted yourself. Turned out to JDMxB, which goes to show that I did anger more than one person out there with my posts.
JDMxB, the apology extends to you and any others who may have been angered by my posts, as well.

Oh, and why I didn't continue it from there...
Merely following a suggestion by another member of this site who had suggested I post on that topic (the rim size one).
I thought you were talking about a different post... The one I put in Tread and Butter (I had checked in here for it, which is why I reposted the exact same topic for this one... Never even new there was a Butter and Tread section - I messed that up completely.)
Just thought I'd clear that up.

To answer your original question, NO, lowering the car a tad bit more in front, than the rear does not pose any sort of problems.
Tanabe DF210 are springs that lower 2.2 in front and 2.0 in the rear and will give you the rake that you are looking for.
If you go 1 inch, you will regret it, even with 18's, go two or don't even bother lowering it, seriously.
If you want o fine tune things, you will need to get a set of adjustable coilovers, with those, you can set F/R height to your hearts content--and not worry about a thing, because you can easily change them if you so choose.
Right now I'm about 2.3 F and 1.8ish R--rides fine and dandy and looks decent.
