Default hot by flying road debris, should i claim it or fix it

so last night entering the express way, some asphalt shingles that were on the road, got kicked up by the car in front of me and hit the front of my car, busting the driver side part of my top grill and broke off the badge. a few minor scratches to the front but nothing i care too much abuot being the toyota paintjob sucks and i'd plan to repaint anyway.

shuold i claim it, spend the 100 deductable and maybe have my rates go up, or is there a good replacement grill that i could buy instead? (the right side round plastic where it attaches tore off.) it's a shadow mica, and i'd prefer the same color or black.

If it's just the grille that got messed up, you can replace that for less than $100.
I have a black ebay special on mine, check my profile if you want to see it (I have a shadow mica too)

Oh, and if you decide to claim it as comprehensive, your rates shouldn't go up.

I was guaranteed that my rates would definitely not go up for a comprehensive claim. I have not tested the waters on that one. I have Country.

That's pretty much how it should be across the board... since nobody was at fault, the rates won't be affected.

Dave, who is your insurance provider, you might want to call up and see if a comp claim will change your premium.

Or, as I said, the grille I have was 45 bucks and fits great. If that's all thats messed up, you'll save money going that route. Also, check classifieds and see if anyone is selling a stock grille. (sorry, but I keep all of my stock parts, just in case)

A comprehensive claim will not make you rates go up. I'm using it for windshield and rock chip damage.

but you can et a grille brand new color matched for under 40 bucks and a badge for like 5 from someone whodoesnt use it anymore

one of the site sponsors sells the grille for 29 plus shipping forget who tho
