Just research what you want over and over till you can get it. It's fine to want to go fast but with an xB it just ain't gonna happen. Fast= diferent vehicle. So do what you want.
Don't cheap out on wheels. It's always more expensive to get what you wanted the second time around.

What I did was "Powder Coat" the stock steelies, then added the nutz, cups and rings..
didn't want to do the lowering springs because of my 540 mile round trip commute.. [once or twice a month]....don't need anymore calluses on my butt!

Also, springs don't make the ride rougher. It's the stock rear shocks that cause that. Get Monroe 5987 rear shocks and whatever springs except TRD ones and your ride will be better than stock! Even when lowered!

Just remember, it is YOUR box, and the 'goal' is to please yourself. Too many folks just copy other people's vision (or lack of it), instead of thinking for themselves.
Decide for yourself what you want your box to be like, what she needs to be the best she can be FOR YOU.
Every box should be different. Each should have it's own personality. It's not just which parts to select and bolt on...
Most of all, enjoy your box, and treat her well.

Once again Tomas nails it with some words of wisdom!
Especially the "treat her well" part. I'm thinking this is what most are forgetting lately. Boxes keep dropping like flies.

ah yes, my relationship w/ my box is good one
others (esp my partner) thinks its mighty bizarre
i say ... get what you think is worth your money.
really think about the piece you're buying and say, will this mod really make a difference in my life? for better or for worse? or maybe no difference at all?
*shrug* your call.

So I've had my box for a and a month. First thing I did was amp/sub combo, followed by some colds cathodes, blaze underbody kit and painting the trim and pillars. I just ordered a vinyl decal, led replacement lights for the ac controls, a "barefoot" gas pedal, and a brody(suicide) ****. (I want to do an old school comfort cruiser look)...
honestly, it's visible things and unique things like the led swap, the gas pedal and the vinyl that i tend to enjoy the most because they are most noticable. I use the amp/sub ALL THE TIME because I'm never without music in my car, and I get a lot of enjoyment out of it, but it's the noticable mods (That were really pretty cheap...) that I enjoy the most. Also it makes the box stand out a lot more, and makes it more "Me".... so I guess that is why. I say, do what you like and think will make your car look how you want, you won't be sorry. As for mod I use/notice the least, it's GOT To be the underbody kit. It's nice, but I would be busted right quick if I ever ran with em on....so they don't get used much except hanging out in the parking lot or a quick flash to get someone's attention....

Yeah, be original, but don't be afraid to upgrade your audio like everyone else. SSP... not so good. I think it means Stupid, Stupid Piece'a... I've heard better sound in a Plymouth Sundance with one working tweeter.
