How fast is this box?

top fuel dragsters weigh about what our car weighs... but they are over 6000hp... they can do 0-60 in under 1 second... how?? easy... it is called traction... and dont' believe that a stupid wing gives downforce at 20mph... it is because the tires are literally glued to the groun...
your exactly backwards on this one, you want to weigh less.. for performance it is usually measured in lbs per hp... so a 4000 lb Diablo with 600hp, is about on par with a 2000lb car with 300hp... but actually you could probably even get away with less on the lighter car... check out the new Lotus.. 2100lbs and 190hp.... and that thing is a rocket...

finding a better way to plant the power to me means RWD or AWD
and the disadvantage of the light car is in conjunction with FWD. the transfer of weight during aceleration off the front wheels will let them break free easier...
and the dragster has the drive wheels at the very end of its wheelbase. and its wheelbase is somewhere near 225 inches (scion xB 98.4) which helps leverage the wheight transfer.
the xb... 1/4 in 17 secs?? so let's ask Mr. Newton... s=1/2at^2+Vot+so... so=0ft... time = 17... s=1320ft... so we solve for time...
1320=1/2*a*17^2.... a= 9.13 ft/s/s...
dragster ... 1/4 in 5...
1320=1/2*a*5^2.... a=105 ft/s/s...
now we vector to get your angle of weight transfer....
xb.... arctan(9.1/32)= 15 degrees...
dragster... arctan(105/32)= 73 degrees...
this is the reason for the wheelbase... this is weight transfer... 15 degrees ain't crap... anyone peeling out with 108hp just has cheap tires... or a dirty roadway... sorry, 15 degrees shifts the CG back about 9 and 1/2 inches in the scion... lower the car two inches and that goes to 9 inches...
my example, remove the sub box, back seat and the spare tire... say 100lbs from the rear... you get a great little statics problem to work out... trust me, taking away weight to adjust the CG ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS trumps the addition of weight...
6k....is that total for labor included, just engine what....for 6 k you could stroke and turbo the mototr, build the block lighten crank, yada yah, and get around 220 to the wheels, now if you want suspension as well, thats gonna cost more.....or you could just pass right by the tranny problem and drop in a 1zz with a 6speed smg.....but that motor and tranny will run you over 6k alone probably, plus labor fab install and the computer work to hack into the smg brain and make the upshifts as fast as the downshifts.....all of this can be done with enough loot...but if your gonna drop 15k into a scion overall, wouldnt you rather drive a bmw?! but anyways all of this quickness could be used at track events i know someone earlier in the post asked where it would be used...well i would love some coilovers and an extra 100 horse for next friday at the streets of willow, i mean that would be ,uch more fun but oh well ill make due.

I got my box last night. Today I got it up to 105 mph. Took a while to get there. Hard for me to get use to half the horse power of my VW GTI. It seems to me that you could get the car teched out so that it could go fast, but I couldn't see getting it up to more than 230 hp. And then you have the problem with gearing. You would have to do a whole lot to get it going more than 135.
