Default How High of water will affect CAI ???

I'm about to get an intake for my xB. Someone suggested Short Ram instead of CAI.
How high of water does it take to get into the intake system?
If I see high water on the road, I dont go thru it if its too deep. If water is up to the ground effects is that high enough to get into the intake?

IMO I dont think I will have to worry about this, but I just want to be sure.

Thanks

water up to the ground effects is freaking high. but no it should not get there. the CAI filter sits right around where your foglights are (driver's side). the most likely way to get water in there is through HUGE splashes or extremely hard rainy conditions. if you are concerned, be sure to get a CAI with that bypass valve to counteract water entry. the dealer AEM CAI that i have has that, and if water does get in, you can tell because there will be a bit of white smokey condensation from your exhaust.

Yes--I would make sure that you have a bypass valve if you get the CAI. It is easy to say you will avoid water--but you can not always tell how deep the water is.
