How long should I wait???
My local Scion dealer (Little Rock) has had my deposit for the past 5 weeks! Should I give up and look for something else? I've been driving a company truck and the boss is starting to ask questions. Even after 5 weeks, he still hasn't found the color I want, and is suggesting a different color!
I would definitely start calling other dealerships around your area (even out of state, if need be). Driving out of city/state sounds like it would be faster than waiting for your dealership.

that's a bunch of bull...i know for a fact that dealers can do dealer trades(if they don't have what you want and really want the sale, they'll call the other dealership and ask for a trade. they should be able to deliver the car to you in a day at the most...depending on the location of the dealership that has it.
as far as dealership not selling one without rims...that's because scions are pure price so there's no money for them...therefore they try to make you buy optional equipment(i.e. 17'' enkei's for a whopping $1500)

I know Lander's is in Arkansas, but I spoke with someone that wouldn't recommend them (bought their box there and aren't going back).
It would be a bit of a drive for you, but I highly recommend my dealer, Reliable Scion in Springfield, MO. Talk to Scott or Aaron and they should be able to take care of you.
When I ordered mine, I was told it was inbound from Japan, and I could wait if I wanted, or they could find one and dealer trade for it. Since I wasn't in dire need, I chose to wait (gave me time to get a few things together anyway). I put the deposit down on 3-12, and my box arrived 3-23, I picked it up on 3-26.

shoot... my dealer (Miller toyota/Scion, manassas) I walked in there just looking around asking quesitons about the Scion cars.... told them IF i bought i'd be looking at a BOP in a manual.... came back about 2 weeks later to ask a few more Qs and there she was.... right up front, calling my name.... So i test road it, liked it...and told the sales person that i'll get back to them in a week.... when i came back, i couldnt find my car?! they put it at the end of the lot out of site so it'll be there for me.... still only w/ the 9 miles from the testdrive.... NICE!

i was replying to your last post about some dealership not selling one without rims...so i said they wanna make some money so they add the rims.
as far as dealer trades, i sell new cars for a living so just to let you know that if one dealership has a particular model a customer wants and they have the option of trading one of their vehicles, not neccessarily scion for scion they will most likely go for it...(this how ever is strictly the dealers option). they can either take deposits and make you wait risking the fact that you can take your deposit back and buy it from someone else or trading and making a sale
