I bought mine for sticker price. They had a white custom one there with what seemed all of the accessories. It was $22,000. I spoke with my sister in Seattle and she informed me that there are xB's there going for way more that sticker price. There was a used BCP here with 30,000 miles on it and the dealer wanted $16,000, no mods except the ugly stock alloy wheels.

Same here.
Same here, but with outrageous Cook County Il taxes and fees, etc. it was almost $16,000 out the door.

I paid $18521 for a 05 BCP with Sirius, Bazooka, fog lights, floor mats, spoiler, wheels, arm rest, tyc tail lights, security and wheel locks. This was the price that I had printed out from the Scion site when building the car. Purchased on 8/4/2005 and I am waiting for the Scion Boost number to come in the mail. Check out the site for boost items https://www.scionboost.com/themoment/viewAwards

There's no negotiating on a Scion. Dealers are allowed to charge higher than MSRP, but the actual price must be posted in the dealership and all buyers must be charged the same. If you buy a leftover, there's a "Scion Boost" promo that will let you choose a premium gift, many of which are worth $400+.

If your price includes sales tax, tags, etc, it sounds about right. The '06 auto lists for $15,195. Sales tax will add $1000, +/- depending on where you live. Add the cost of registration and document fees, which shouldn't total more than $100 or so. (If they're packing on a $400 "documentation fee," that's dealer BS that should be negotiable.)

yeah sure. Saturn tried this also, but you will find out that all cars are negotiable. If the dealer wants to sell his car he will drop his price to make you happy.

Scions are hard to negotiate on. The reason this is, is because they are reasonably new, and people want them right now. If you were to give them a couple of years you will be able to negotiate on them. Just like Saturn now, they are like a regular dealership, they have a no hassle staff, but you can negotiate with their "sleezy" manager and he will drop their price down after wheeling and dealing with you. ( i looked into a saturn before i went with Scion)

* side note to all Saturn Managers * not saying you all are sleezy some of you are really nice, but in my small experience car shopping myself and with my parents, all dealerships seem to have that one manager who can "cut you the best deal" where no one else can do anything. (usually the same guy that tries to sell you the extended warranties, over-priced car alarms, and my favorite the "Electronic rust evador")

Default My Scion $

I bought a 2005 xB for sticker price of $12,988.

We actually went to test an xA (I still adore them) but for the same price we could get the roomier/infinitely cooler xB.

I love having a vehicle I'm proud of the price & fuel efficiency!

Hmmm - a Kia dealership in my area is selling a brand new 2005 xB for $28,000 (give or take a few hundred). I'm talking to them now (last few days) on purchasing it. I've already sent in the papers for a credit-check approval. Anyway...

I live in Canada, so the exchange makes that $23,773.14 USD. From reading this thread I can't help but feel they're ____ing me in the ___ on this.

Anyone have an idea on what it costs to import them from the US up to Canada? And what the hell they're thinking jacking the price like that? If there's total reason for this price hike I won't mind paying that, but otherwise they can ____ 'emselves.

Thoughts?

I got my TCM '05 in July '05 for sticker price; $14,450 after title fees and zero extras, warranties, etc. But, I think they were moving the '05s around from dealer to dealer to try to sell them as mine had 400 miles on it when I got it. I was kinda peeved about it, but when I brought it up they told me it had never been titled, therefore was a "new" vehicle. The miles, they said, were from taking it from dealer to dealer up and down I-5 in Oregon who each had a shot at moving the car on their lot, which is common I guess given the availability of these cars in certain colors at the end of the '05 season. Still, knowing every salesman at 3 or 4 dealerships had taken it for a spin made me feel they should have dropped the price or added on some extras or something. They didnt'. They told me if I didn't want that one, there was another buyer waiting who did. Anyone else deal with this additional mileage on their Scion? Next time, I'll probably walk or wait for the next model year....but this time, I wanted my Xb BAAAAAAAD and now I've got it! Definitely zero regrets now.
