Default I absolutely love the Box... but.....

My only beef is with how easy the paint chips. I know this has been covered before, but over the last couple of months it has been really bad for some reason. I don't follow to close behind others on the highway and all that, but damn, my car is literally peppered with paint chips. The hood - peppered, fenders - peppered. This is so frustrating. Even through out both sides - paint chips everywhere.

What are some things you can do for the xB early on (Like in the first few months) to avoid paint chips in the future? Besides a bra? My Batmobile won't be wearing a bra. lol.

I've had the most problems with the windshield more than the paint.. we have a tC at my work in for paint that has a huge crack in the windshield, according to the RO it was from a stone chip, so I know that problem isn't just the xB.

I'm thinking the flat front has something to do with enhancing the issue. I've been on the freeway three times and try to keep my distance (which is hard when people pass then immediately get in front to spew rocks) and speed down to around 60-65. Even with this I've noticed a few tiny paint chips that I've had to touch up.
I was willing to believe that until I got a chance to speak with a tC owner in the area. He too complained about ease in which his car's paint chips. The tC is far more aerodynamic than the xB so it can't be that. It just comes down to a cheap paintjob.

doesn't hurt to try it out. try a few dealers if one says no. you have a rust warranty on the car

it also has a lot to do with the clear coat setting completely. the clearcoat sealer agent in it doesn't completely harden for a few months. this is what the painter from my shop told me. I've had my xB since last november, and no paint chips in the front... a few in the back though, all my fault though.

RockBlocker Paint Protection kits are the way to stop paint chips from happening, IMHO
