Default I can't make up my mind old xb or new?

So I have much love for the old XB but I can get better deals on the new one!
SO i need some help on facts!

Can i tow any thing with the old one?
i'm looking at a 06 which has less power due to the EPA?
but this ones claims to have cruise control and a sunroof
was this an 06 only?

also the gas mileage seem soo much better!
how do they have VS the newer model?
i looked but could not find any side by side test
let me know thanks!

Can i tow any thing with the old one? a few people have, one guy towed a VW thing with his

i'm looking at a 06 which has less power due to the EPA? not sure

but this ones claims to have cruise control and a sunroof
was this an 06 only? sunroof must have been added by the dealer or previous owner, and the CC was an option

also the gas mileage seem soo much better! yep alot better

how do they have VS the newer model? mileage, I think its around 10mpg not sure I'm getting 34mpg

i looked but could not find any side by side test
let me know thanks! probably aren't any, alot of people that liked the first gen hate the new one (like some of the magazines) and the ones that ragged on the old one love the new one, its a love it or hate it, personally I hate the new one in the mileage dept, and price dept.

The EPA just adjusted how the power was rated. It has the same power as the earlier years.

Sunroof and cruise would be either aftermarket or dealer installed stuff.

You have a link? What dealership is selling it? How much do they want?

I had an 06 and now have an 09.
It's hard to find the mt. Most are at. the price they asking is only about $800 more than my insurance just paid me. (they added tax and lic on top of that and it came to around 15500. The cheaper ones I've seen are individual sold and modded not dealer.
I will sum of only my experience with the two. The 06 was smaller and got better gas mileage. the 09 rides better in every way for me, but obviously at a price n mpg. I wish I still had my 06, but I love my 09. The price of a 2nd gen is only about $1000 more for a new car with miles to be put on it. I drive around 16000 miles a year on this car and will hopefully own it till one of us dies.

Not to get off track, but speaking of xB pricing.. even here in Miami, the used first gens are being advertised for AT LEAST the original new car price (or within $2000 of it), even with high mileage (at used car dealers).. which, I suppose for current gen 1 owners, this is a good thing.. they did pack a lot for the price in the first gen.. it seams to be retaining that value, better than a lot of other cars

as always.. I vote first gen

P.S.
There is a guy and a pic on here somewhere, of a 1st gen hauling a full size pop up camper.. dont know how it does..

Dude, find a stick! I waited 3 months for mine (06).. it is hard to find one.. I got offered well over what I paid new for my xB by a guy at an autocross event because it was a stick.. hard to come by.. they are roomy little boogers though.. My buddy has a boosted 2nd gen (killer_cain), that thing moves!! Before he was boosted, I could keep up with him, with my 1st gen.. up to around 120! Anyway.. a second gen isnt bad by any means.. you gotta go with what willl make you happy.. which sounds like a manual 1st gen.. I'd keep looking

by the Mississippi huh? Where at? I am right on the Mississippi myself. Is it in Moline? I know the dealer if it is. They are scam artists big time. Definately try to talk them down.

As a owner of both, I prefer the first model over the new one. The only thing the new one has going for it is a little more room, and more power. It sucks on gas, and quite frankly I think it's ugly as hell. Rides a little better though too. But I think the first gen had more comfortable seats.

Gen II might be the better value.

[GASP] I can't believe I'm saying that!

But, given the value that the Gen I has been holding, you might be better off buying a Gen II xB.

I don't think you'd be getting a better vehicle, though; the Original xB is clearly the best!

IMO, of course . . . .

A true xB lover would never even consider getting an xB2.
Find the color and trans. you want on Auto Trader but be ready to take a trip to go get it. I actually wish I could get another box. It would be an 04' Lava 5 spd with the least amount of miles I could fine. Half the fun would be bringing home the new score.

Generation Uno for the win! It doesn't have the new features like power and more space but it does have MPG and style. Adopt a gen I and save the world!
