It would vary too much. Depending upon the source material and if it was up all the way.

Why?

You can also get a decibel reader from radio shack for pretty cheap, and you could always return it too.

did you get a ticket or something? Doubt cops would measure the audio output of a sound system, are you swapping speakers?

its pretty hard to fight one of those tickets cause its a noise pollution/violation, I got one a long time ago when I had my RSX-S judge almost laughed in my face, basically if they can hear your system from a certain distance I can't remember the exact estimate but so many feet away its a violation, I will check with by cop bro, and see the exact ruling on it and repost...

im in ny and got pulled over for loud stereo, i never have it all the way up. the cop started to give me crap and so i said i can turn it up louder if you would like and at that moment a harley went by and i said so ur telling me that my music is more annoying than that overpriced poluter and he said u have a point and i got out of my ticket, he let me off with a warning and asked me to turn it down. havnt had a prob since and i didnt turn it down.... but yeah if u got the ticket pretty hard to get out of it unless the judge likes loud music lol
