Look at mine it took like 3 to 4 weeks from accident to a fair settlement.
now I got a Salsa Red with a lower payment but I still owe the same

this is what the body shop did to it

I was told by the insurance co. that the estimate was over $10,000. The other guy's insurance took car of it. Try to make sure to take it to Toyota Dealership Body shop.

So the guy could barely speak english, was driving a shoddy car, had no drivers license, no insurance, and it wasn't even his shoddy car? Unbelievable man. I'm glad your kid wasn't with you, and that you are ok. I just hate that nothing happens to the guy.

75% of the value of the vehicle totals, but once they get within a thousand dollars of the value, they start picking it over with a fine toothed comb, to do themselves, the shop, and owner a favor to total it

I am guessing about $5,000 damage at a reputable shop.

Well I just got a call from my adjuster-- it is repairable. They are finalizing paperwork but will be just over $6,000. All body work is being done at the dealer. Sucky part is that parts aren't available and will take 3-4 weeks to get them (from Japan I imagine). And I also found out that (wonder of wonders) the guy that hit me did have insurance, he apparently just didn't have any proof of it when he hit me. No matter, my ins. company is taking care of it and will go after his insurance company. That is nice so I only have to deal with my local folks. Go Farm Bureau!

First off I'm glad everyone was OK, and the envy will ride again

I hate to see Toyota get the blame here. This is likely not true, but a way for the body shop to buy time. All my parts were under 3 days at the dealer for both boxes. They have one of the best parts distribution systems in the world.

My dear envy

My tie bar saved the strut tower from folding. All body part damage, no pillow bombs went off, all mechanical is fine. Not bad considering the 8-12 point buck was about a 250 pound meat missal running into me while I was going 60 mph.

Its by the grace of God I'm still alive. Had I been going a little faster, he would of came into my drivers door, Not good. A little slower he would of been all over me through the windshield. I only got head butted by his head. The roof snaped off half of his rack on entry into my face. another miracle. Than he flipped around from the A pillar, and finished off the drivers side of the box.
