Just in case you were curious
i was working on my engine today and had the chance to take a few pictures of the engine without the valve cover on. figured that most people probably havent seen this so....

he's putting in a bigger wheel for the rats...moved up from mice...
notice there are no adjustments to make on the valves...
if you get some slop in the valves, you have to remove the cam and change the lifter to a diff thickness...
makes me worry about future maint.

whoo...i finished. went to toyota and it seems as if that part is supposed to be a "one time deal" it is sold as 2 parts but serviced as one. they dont have a tool. i took your advice on the wire method and it worked fine. the first one went on the first try and the second one took me like 30 minutes. according to toyota "even if you get it off and exchange it, it will leak" riiite...i checked...it doesnt. primed it and turned it on, everything works fine. take that toyota service department

one time use my ****...but thats why they put that rib there. so the tools don't work...
did you use wd-40 (or like product) on it when putting it back together.
