Default Just got in my CF wing...seems a lil too long?

The mail dude just dropped it off at my door a few mins ago. I put the wing against the top of my xB to see how it fits. To me, the wing seems a lil long?

Those who have purchased a CF Wing or just a regular OEM spoiler, mind posting a few pics with different angles and views? Just wanna see how it fits.

Thanks, much appreciation.

Do you mean the two very bottom points stick out al ittle past the hatch? If so, so does the OEM and my CF spoiler I just got put on last night has the same. It looks SO much better with it on there though.

Thanks. You knew what I was talking about. The wing is just sitting on my room floor right now. Probably won't been installed for another 1-2 weeks due to money. :? So its supposed to be overlapping or be longer than the hatch? Hopefully the people who install it wont make it crooked.

Thanks for the response.

I installed mine myself. Took about 10 minutes. I found no use for the predrilled with threaded inserts, I couldn't get to them. I just drilled where the holes were on top and used sheet metal screws to screw it down.

The threaded inserts were in my spoiler, with bolts in them. I just took those out, to not scarth where they were, and put the spoiler up where it goes. Once it was there I took a punch and hammer to mark the spots the holes needed to be on top, so the drill bit wouldn't move around. I then drilled holes out that were smaller than the metal screws. I placed the spoiler back up there and screwed the screws down. They make their own thread hole so that they can hold.

Still havent installed my spoiler yet. Instead of it in my room, its in the back of the car now.

Not sure, but if plans work out, probably go to my bro in law's friend's shop this weekend. (tongue twister). Seems like the installation will be free (HOPEFULLY).

Erikcooper - wing only came with holes, cf hole covers and 2 screws already drilled in?

What are those screws for if you know what im talking about. if i faced the wing the way its supposed to be...the screws are between the wing and the hatch...where the window squirter thing is.

if you still know what im talking...leave or unscrew those screws? seems like those screws have no purpose being there and it can probably scratch the paint.

thanks. tried to explain as easy as possible

Yes those are the screws I was talking about. It seems like they would be great to help hold it on, if you could get to a place to screw them through the hatch into those holes. I couldn't figure out how to get there so I just took them out. I put sheet metal screws through the other holes you mentioned and then put the caps over them.

Haha.

Well I wish it was just easy like that. Sure as hell I wished that money grows on trees. The guy who installed my wing has an xB himself. He owns a shop and if anything, I'll go to him for wheels. Said he can get a good discount for me.

Honestly, I've only got a lil under $100 in my checking account. With my job(s), the pay that I'm getting, bills (car, cell, food, gas, insurance) and lil shopping here in there..it's gonna take me awhile to get some rims.

If I actually have $1000 in the bank, thats when I'll actually start looking. :?

Then is that a 2 tone paint job, or vinyl? I was thinking if it was a paint job you must have some money, but I guess times do change to so that could of been back when you had it done.

Well I consider that paint job a bill. Luckily my parents still help me out. I feel bad, I understand that they have a big load on their back. So I try to pitch in as much as I can with my paychecks. $275 a month and insurance.

but yeah, real paint.
