Sorry to hear about that. I just don't understand the thinking of some people. Hopefully you will make it look like new again. By the way, I agree on getting the black TYC tails, they look hot on the yellow. Good luck.

I've got some hot tails. We can work out a deal if you have a good drivers side tail to trade.

If it was your car that was hit you would want someone to leave a note. That's why our insurance rates are so high, hit and run and people with no insurance. Now, is it fair that his insurance rates go up if he had to make a claim with his insurance company if he didn't have a "friend" to help him out? I think not! With that kind of attitude, maybe someone will leave you a nice dent when your not looking and leave the scene.

actually insurance rates are so high becuase people feel the need to take people to court for 5-10 mile an hour crashes and they endup getting a bunch of money for their very much unhurt necks, now since this happens daily and insurance companies get hundreds of thousands of these cases yearly, high rates are the only way the companies can make any money off their business

yep, $2,400 per year for me, a clean, older driver in a city (miami) where such scams are rampant

-the morality of damaging a car and leaving without note to contact is indefensibly seflish and evil-

it's that simple. you make a mistake: you make offer to make it good. otherwise you put a permanent blemish on that victims memory. you rob someone else's peace of mind and right to expect fair play. you make yourself a cur if you damage and walk away.

it's that simple. morality does count.

unfortunately, the nature of many people lacks the quality termed "empathy". This kind of person is the hit-and-run driver, the credit card thief, the shoplifter, the miscreants of all kinds found in high or low places of society.

"Sociopaths" are what they are. it's that simple and they really cannot change by themselves, or not at all. period. so it goes. people in a society must respect propterty rights if that society is to be healthy. it's the most basic "rule" really. plain common sense, really. Sociopaths cannot care less. their selfishness is pure and animalistic.

wish it were "he'll get his" but it doesn't work that way unless you beleive in karma (I don't)

the thing is: you get victimized. then later on you find yourself in a situation where a hard choice has to be made quickly. "well, this gets me square with that last time when the person hit and ran. guess I'll do it too"

result: the cancer gets spread on to some new person who might be having a very bad day, already. maybe he/she'll flip and get into a crash or beat his wife or kid or go do something... else to vent frustration. OTOH, if we, the responsible persons, 'fess up: we spread an amazing comfort to the victim. We set example for -him- to follow.

It's all just golden rule stuff. It's good to be good because that good may just come back to you someday. may. expect nothing in return, but try to give a lot of kindness to strangers. you'll meet wonderful people this way and feel better for having made someone else smile and feel... valued, respected. I do that even -here- when I can.
