I owned a 90 Starlet GT Turbo while living in Japan. The Starlet is a great ride, easy to work on, and quick! The only thing I didn't like was the intercooler located on top of the engine...

I always thought that the Tercel/Echo were the grandparents of the Scion (to an extent); my first car was a 1996 Tercel so maybe that's why I love my xA so much

Yes, the Echo/Vitz is the father of Scion.

And then, the Starlet was Toyota's cool hatch before the Vitz.

So, you must understand your family lineage!
