Looking for good tires for 18's
Can anyone tell me if this tire is any good. (Achilles ATR Sport 215/35 ZR18 84W XL) I was wondering about the ride, handling, how fast they wear down, if its noisy, etc. any info will be great. Or, if anyone can recommend a tire to go with please let me know. I need to get a set ASAP. Two tires have plugs and i think the plugs are wearing down. (slow leaking)
i had the pzero neros, great tire, great handeling, sticky in all conditions even at a z rating. now i use the yokohama parada spec 2 and i must say, these are just as good if not better handeling wise... if you want a good all weather tire, with BIG rain grooves check them out.. also they are non directional so you can rotate left to right if you wanted to..
i rode on my pirelli's for 35k miles, never rotated them once (my bad) but the fronts i thought they wore EXTREAMLY well. still had tread on them when i sold them, though i never pushed the tires by trying to spin them, fast stops etc.. the backs wore very well and looked like they would have gotten another 20k miles if i rotated them up to the front..
i can't speak to the yokohams's wear though as i have not had them very long, and they still look brand new, but damn if they don't have some killer treads... if you live in an area that gets lots of rain, give them a looksie on the web..

Uhm... I wouldn't trust those... they could be fine, but I've never heard of em.
I notice that those are the cheapest on the list... for 15 bucks more a corner, the Kumho Ecsta AST would be a safer choice. You're better off using something tried and true rather than something cheap and then hating them and having to buy something new.
