Unhappy Missing my gen 1 xb like crazy

so... I've been on these forums a while now - since 2005 if I'm not mistaken... and i got rid of my gen 1 box for an overpriced mercedes that was plagued with serious issues.

so i got rid of the benz and bought another xb - a gen 2, in white.

and although it's an xb, it does not have that excitement factor that my gen 1 had. i miss that car like crazy and i honestly would like to buy another gen 1....

just wanted to put this here in case anyone has the same feeling of regret / nostalgia.

I've gotten bored and threatened to sell my xB so many times over the years. Hell, it's been sitting on mautofied.com since I bagged it in March lol. But unless somebody offers me something outrageous I won't part with it.

It'd be good seeing you back in a gen1, they can be picked up dirt cheap these days, get one and make it a project.

oh wow, dane, it's nice to hear from you after so long! i remember you from the forums back when i had my xb1

if you can afford to hold onto it, i honestly would. like i've mentioned on the forums many times, i really regret selling my xb and wish i had it back. just checked out your instagram - love the pics of your white box! makes me miss mine lol

and i totally agree with you on picking up another xb. trust me, im considering it! there are several rs4's in my area for sale for ~$5,000 and i'm so tempted to pick one up! they have 130-150k miles so im going to just scout craigslist until i find a nice, cheap box with low miles. an rs4 would be a nice score though.

just a couple of links to rs4's on craigslist ---

http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/cto/4057315617.html

i would pick up this rs4 since it has only 51k miles on it! but it's at a dealer and im sure they want probably $10k for it if not more...

it's so clean - here are better pics of it - http://4210.ecarlist.com/web/ebay_photos/8113468/

A buddy of mine just sold his RS4 with 36K on it. Such a nice color.

Your story is one of a million reasons why I will never sell my xB. Kidney goes first!

I also miss my xb1. I still regret selling it. It was an absolutely a fun car. I've been saving to get another one for a second car.

Even tho wife said our son could drive my gen1, I still can't and won't make myself sign it over to him. He doesn't take care of it like me. I still drive my gen2 every day. Can't see getting rid of either one anytime soon.

Default xB1

I've had my 06 xB1 over 8 years. The only problems I've had are a bad water pump and the alignment got out of whack when I rotated the tires. I bought Michelin Harmony's and they're too bouncy, won't do that again. Oh, forgot my A/C clutch has been rattling for years but it's almost music to my ears now.

I have been tempted to buy an xB2 but I don't want to pay 8.1% sales tax nor do I want the lower seat, lower mpg, and the obtrusive rear pillars. I would buy a decent used xB2 private party but they're almost impossible to find round' here except for salvage titles.

xB1 is prolly the 2nd best car I ever owned. It's definitely the most practical and the most fun!
