Default Mud Flaps/Dirty Rear End

Does anyone own mudflaps on their xA and if so, are you finding your rear end to be dirty still?

I am considering getting them. Anything to keep the back clean would be helpful, it gets SO dirty SO easily. Very annoying.

I was wondering the same thing. I had no intention of paying $108 for a simple set of mud guards, but now I'm kinda wishing I had. One short drive in the rain is enough to make the whole back end filthy. I wonder how much they really help.

I was thinking of trying to find the best deal I could on the OEM flaps but put them on myself. I mean, how hard could it be? If I find a really good price, I'll post it here.

The best price I found was $58 for the back. Still a huge rip off.

I bought the rear mudflaps with my $50 gift card. I put them on myself using the instruction that come with them and it took 5 minutes per side. It took me longer to take my tires off than it did to do the install...

They HELP but do not stop your back end from getting dirty. It has been a definite improvement but you can't expect these 2 little pieces of plastic to keep that whole rear end spotless...

Bottom line-They do thier job. I'm satisfied with them, although I think they're overpriced.

That's good to know...thanks Chris. Let me ask you this. Do you have to take the wheels off, or is it just to fit the drill and screwdriver in there? The reason I ask, is because I have a right-angle drill that only needs about 3".

No, you don't have to take your wheels off. The instructions called for a right-angle drill, like you have, but I didn't have one so instead of paying $80 for one, I just took my wheels off and used a regular drill & screwedriver.

Seriously though, why would you say that? The ones for the xA are very small and don't look bad at all. If they cut down on the ammount of rear spray, what's wrong with that?

Matt,

One thing I've learned is to ignore those that just throw statements out there without explaining thier reasons.

I agree with you. The xA mudflaps are small and look very nice. Especially since there are front mudflaps but no rear ones. Without them it looks like 1/2 an install.

They look nice and cut down on the tire spray... besides the price, what negatives are there? none.

Mine were $78 at the dealer then I got $50 off with the gift card so they cost me $28 in the end.

I'm working with one of my sponsors to get some diamond plat mudflaps mad. If I could get a template or some exact measurements it would speed it up considerably. I would do it myself, but I have 2 broke limbs at the moment.

I have a set on my xa, and I want to sell them since I'm getting a kit. Anybody interested in getting all 4 for $80? let me know. Thanks.
