My bad luck Continues (problem found)
Sorry to mentioned that they didn't charge me for the diagnostic and brand new tranny for FREE. I'm just going to take it easy from now on or install a tranny cooler for the car.
Just a warning here, but if you drive your car knowing that there is something seriously wrong with it that *may* nullify whatever extended warranty you have.
My Ex-girlfriend had a claim rejected on her transmission when it died on her. She had a FOrd Explorer at that time and was driving down the road and the car stopped going. The engine worked but the car would not move. She called me to pick her up and when I arrived the whole back of the car was covered in a fine oily mist, tranny fluid. This happened suddenly because this mist was not there earlier in the day. So, to make a long story short, the extended warrant company denied the claim because she drove the car with no transmission fluid in it, even though she stopped the car when it *obviously* wouldn't go any more. When I asked the people at the warranty company how was she supposed to know when the fluid was low they didn't have a response. The manager of the transmission shop, AAMCO, said the claim inspector came in, walked around the vehicle and left. He didn't even put it on a lift. THis was AFTER I told the warranty company I wanted to be present when the inspector came in and to please let me know when he was going to be there so I could be there with him..This was an aftermarket warranty company, and because of this experience I will probably never buy one.
Now, I can't tell you guys the first part of that story without telling you the rest of this story even though it isn't about Scions or anything, but it is kind of funny to see how stupid people can be sometimes:
She bought the car used from a dealer in New York, and they even tried applying pressure on these guys to get them to pay for the transmission, but these guys were stubborn. The dealership told my Ex that she could turn her warranty in and get a prorated refund, which was just about enough to cover the cost of a rebuilt transmission, about $1200.00. She did not want to turn it in and get a refund in case something else happened to her car and needed repairs. I pointed out to her that if they weren't going to pay for her transmission what made her think that they were going to pay for anything else? She decided to keep the warranty, and I cut her loose shortly after that.

Thanks for the warning, but I'm already covered under warranty as the Toyota Representive came and checked out the car and said I'm covered. The torque converter is teh main problem, so I don't think any tranny oil will leak from the car and they told me the car is driveable.

I'm pretty happy to hear that they are replacing it, but I feel stupid for messing up the tranny though.
as i read this i got ____ed. It is nice to hear that they are nice to you, but i take a car with a burnt clutch in to the Mitsubishi dealer (it is in conjunction to Scion, Toyota, Mercedes) and they say too bad. I PAID FOR THE FRIGGIN CAR CASH and i get f**** in the ___. That is bull____, makes me wanna kick an asain in the nuts for building the car. sorry but that's bull____ (not what happened to you, but what happened to me)
Dealerships are known to screw people over in Warranty work, but in my case... I got really really lucky. Sorry to hear about all your problems, and I hope the asian people you're reffering to, aint me.ahahha
I dont know, but after checking it out they said it was used for performance. I do drive my car a lot and mostly back roads with hills. I have about 20,000 miles on my car since I bought it in April of this year.
Thanks Man :D , but they still need proof to show that the car been abused, imo. Yes, I'm getting a free loaner car, but does anyone know what kind they usually give out though?

I noticed people aren't able to see my car for some weird reason because I tend to get cut off like there's no tomorrow

I just got the call from Scion that my car is fixed and ready to be picked up. They got the new tranny last night and finished installing it this morning... That's quick. Time to go pick up my baby...
I had a similar issue like this happen in a VW Jetta. The problem with the Jetta, the oil from the engine was leaking somehow into the tranny and vice versa. There were times that you could step on the gas just barely and not go anywhere till the thing redlined and then it would hop going back and forth between 800 and 8000rpm. The tranny was replaced four times within 35K miles. It would fix the problem at first with a replacement tranny, but it kept happening after another 5000 or so miles. The dealership eventually bought it back from me claimed under lemon law. My word to you, talk with the tech manager and ask them what they will do if this happens again and how much longer is the new tranny covered under warranty. If the tranny slip happens again, ask that they replace the engine and transmission.
