My round box; Funcargo
Thought I should drop by here and share some words.. I got a thread over at ClubXB but never joined here for some odd reason..
I got a 2000 Toyota Yaris Verso, which is essentially a JDM Funcargo. The Funcargo shares a lot of underpinnings with the bB, which in turn is the JDM xB (as I guess you know). The Toyota scene around my neck of the woods (Norway) is pretty dead, luckily the US/online Scion scene is pretty huge so I can get my kicks with this car. I hope you recognize it as an xB in round clothes and don't ban my ___ for it not being a boxy box
I got the car with 60k in 2010 needing a reliable driver that I could load full with parts for my other cars, keeping this stock.. It now has 125k and is being driven daily.. In the soon four years I've been driving it I've replaced the MAF sensor after a CEL and the gearbox (don't ask me how I blew it.. to this day I don't understand myself) last autumn.. I have the original service history on the car and there hasn't been any other work besides regular maintenance. I do oil changes every 9k miles or so (never more) per Toyota recommendations, fully synthetic. I plan on driving the car to 250k miles. It's been on a 6000 mile road trip to southern Europe and Asian Turkey, served as a parts hauler and show car back-up..
As for keeping things stock.. We all know that never works.. After reading a magazine article on a two-tone UPS brown xB (Tjin?) back in the mid 00s my eyes really opened for anything different.. As for keeping things stock, we all know that never works. Especially when you get talking to Scion guys
Current mods are a Rav4 stubby antenna, a Funcargo trunk badge, OMP wheel hub with either a Sparco or Nardi woodgrain steering wheel (depending on mood I guess), Tein SS coilovers and Rotiform BLQs 8Jx17 ET20. Future mods I'm looking into are -3 degree camber shims, a Cusco lower brace and a new exhaust.. My buddy runs an exhaust shop, I need a new cat (got a CEL again lol) so I figure I'm doing a hidden exhaust with a new muffler or a straight pipe as well depending on his view. No fart cans here. Also I'm a (certified) wheel *****, don't expect the BLQs to last forever.
Some pics.. For reference, the rear spring perches were stuck when I got the coilovers but I've since got them un-seized.. Right now the car is in state inspection mode and it's also winter but I will lower the rear more making the car sit more even when the weather warms up.

After a thorough wash

(Blurry) interior shot

I also need to have the doors and the rear corner straightened out and painted after two hit and runs when parked. Gotta love street parking and shopping malls.. Anyway the car is my daily and among a sea of boring cars, it's cool to do something different. I'll definitively post up some shots when the weather warms up and the car is out of it's current demise of winter/inspection height and steel rollers.. Thanks for looking
