Need experienced accounts regarding springs
Ok so the deal is I'm looking at getting a set of Eibachs. I have an new xA with factory everything.
Specs for the 8281.140 set say it will drop the xA 1.6" F/ 2.0" R
What I would really like to know, from anyone who has replaced your factory springs, is how much of a handling improvement did you get?
I can understand how lowering the center of gravity will help with handling and cornering, but I'm trying to get an idea of just how much of an improvement over factory we are talking about here.
For example: I can usually take an aggressive 90 degree corner at about 25mph before the tires start chirpping. I can take a sweeping corner at about 58 before it feels like the tires are going to start slipping. (both of these situations end up with quite a bit of body roll in the cabin)
I'd like to know if by replacing the springs, it would cut down on the body roll a bit and give me a tighter feel as far as taking corners and such.
Normal manuvers such as quick lane changes or swerves can sometimes give the car a "floaty" feeling, and I'm sure a lower center of gravity will fix alot of that. I have noticed lately that the car will have quite a noticable weight shift, which is probably what accounts for the "almost-slipping" feeling.
If anyone can share their experience, both good and bad, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have Tein S-techs on my xA. I think it improved the handling 10 fold! I can probably take a 90* turn at 40mph. I think most of the limitation lies with the small all season tires. I want to get a 205/55R15 Kumho Ecsta Supra tire once my Goodyears wear out. I had them on my Civic and they were a nice tire for the price.
