Default NEED HELP! LOST MY KEY!!!! w/ cliff notes!

Ok quick rundown...
parked at a municipal airport, traveling in pittsburgh CANT FIND MY SPARE KEY!
So i fly back at 330pm today and LUCKILY there is a scion dealership like 2 minutes from the airport....

Does anyone know if i JUST get the key cut, will it start the car?
I dont want to spend 50 on a keyless entry fob if i dont need it. I just need to open the door, get in and start it so i can get home to my other set of keys.

I called service and FIRST he was like thats a transponder key
and i was like umm it looks like a cheap flat key to me
than he put me on hold and said its 13 dollars and it will start the car

I just dont wanna NOT have someone come and drop my other keys and inconvience them when i can just handle it

CLIFF NOTES

With a regular xb with NO upgraded alarm
if i get another key cut will it open the door and start

THANKS!- Mike

So will the key work and not need the entry fob?

It will start your car and after you do drive back to the dealership and ask for your money back because you educated him on his products.

Our keys are not chipped and you do not need the keyless entry fob either. I lost mine years ago.

As everyone else said, we have regular keys, nothing special about them. Just getting them to cut one will work fine.

I live in NY, car is parked in NJ and i'm currently in pittsburgh (FLYING BACK THIS AFTERNOON)

i was going to do the cutting of a key thing, so i wouldnt have to make my friend or father drive all the way from NY to NJ to meet me at the car so i can get into it.(with the spare)
I figured taking a cab to the dealer and back to the car was the easiest.

I posted here so later at like 5pm i wouldn't be stuck with a key that opened the door and not starting the car
i was chasing it down early so i would be good to go later in the day.

Get it now? =D
