Default New to the board, lots of qustions!!!

Hello everyone!

I am new to the xA board here, and am seriosly considering purchasing an xA around the end of the summer. Currently I am driving a 02 Celica GT, but will be trading that in for an EVO 8 when I get back home (working over seas) as much as I love Toys, insurance prices between the Celi and EVO are forcing me to buy the evo, hey, for only 200 more every 6 months, how could anyone pass this up??? But, like I said, I have a spot deep down for Toys! My Scion will probably see a few auto cross events, but mostly its going to be my point A to point B car. However, this does not mean I am not gonna play around with it as much as possible. So, my questions are the following (and before someone jumps on the "do a search!!!" bandwagon, like I said, I am over seas and am using a net cafe, so I dont have hours and hours to browse through the board)
1: engine swaps- are the celica engines (1ZZ of course, lots of power dont mean jack when you cant hit it until several thousand RPMS and high compression doesnt lend itself well to boost)
2: Forced induction?? Any kits out yet, can xB kits be modded to fit?
3: part swapping from ist, do these fit?
4: suspension- I have seen some tein products and various support bars, but is this thing possibly a canyon carver??
4: any and all thoughts about owning this car, its practicality, ability, gas mileage, whatever you feel like throwing out!
Like I said, this is a daily driver, but I want some spunk to it. Probably gonna throw a body kit on, some dubs, and whatever I can do to get more power out of this neat little car. I am not looking to spend tens of thousands of dollars making all this come true (that money is going for the 500whp EVO) but I dont mind putting down up to 10k on making this a ride to be stared at. Heck, if I could just swap in the 1.8 1ZZ I think I would be happy, I know a ton about this engine and am really going to miss it. Wouldnt be giving it up had the aftermarket, after nearly 5 years, completly overlooked such a great platform. Oh well, I guess we cant al hope for Honda's level of parts for every car huh?
Thanks ahead of time for any and all response!
Dan

engine swaps are possible if you have the money

a couple people are running the blitz kit on the xB and e.l. prototypes will be releasing a turbo soon

3: part swapping from ist, do these fit?

they are the same car, so it will basically matter what parts you want to swap

4: suspension- I have seen some tein products and various support bars, but is this thing possibly a canyon carver??

there are coil-overs out, so you could get those. there are also sway bars along with the strut bars

4: any and all thoughts about owning this car, its practicality, ability, gas mileage, whatever you feel like throwing out!

it is a great car for the money and is a lot better then aveo.

ikon,

Thanks for your reply! Sounds like there is a lot I can do once I nab one of these sweet little cars. Money isnt the biggest factor to me, but this will be a daily driver, so maybe I will end up keeping things modest and civil, just want some extra umph when I am putzing around town

getting the extra power won't be a problem. magnaflow has a full cat-back exhaust there are plenty of intakes being made and e.l. prototypes has a header out.
