Well, I bought my H12 bB about 6 months ago. I live in Tokyo Japan,
been here over 6 years now. I remember when I got here seeing the
bB for the 1st time. It grabbed my attetion and I fell in love with it. I
knew if they brought it to the US it would sell, and it did. Well, it took
about 5 1/2 years before I got one. We had to sell our 1997 Toyota
Surf Hi-Lux SSR-X Limited (4 Runner) because it was a turbo diesel.
In Tokyo they are getting rid of diesel cars, only personally owned
ones. So, I could not get it inspected again. We went to the dealer
that sold it to us and asked what they could offer us. We saw a white
bB there, H12 (2000) 1.5L with 30,000 km's on it. We wanted to trade
the Surf for it and we did, even Steven. I really love the bB, it so easy
to park here in Japan and gets great gas mileage, considering it has a
really small tank. The first day I had it, i put in the system, a JL 12W6,
Kenwood class D amp, Kenwood head unit (979), the ipod interface. Now
that made it sound a lot better. About a week or so later, in went the
remote start. The bB came with lowering springs so it has an awesome
stance. I just added a Cusco strut brace and it seems to make a diff
in handling. It has the oem wheels, really dark tinted windows (not driver/
pass. though). I will post up some pics later when I find them, but here
are a few links I have on my other forum I belong to:

i have liked them for the past 5 years or so. I am really enjoying it.
I find myself driving it more than my other car, better gas mileage.

Thanks, it came like that from the previous owner, It looks nice when it gets direct sunlight.
Some of my friends don't care for it, but I do. It is better than the stock color.

I like that its different. I am thinking about painting mine a black sand color. The silver is getting old and I dont' really care for carbon.

Is it four wheel drive? Or did the 1.5 only come in 2wd and the 1.3 in 4wd? I notice you have the column shift too... that's really cool.

Congrats man!

I just moved back to the states about a year ago after living in Japan(Yokohama and near Aomori) for 12 years myself. I wanted a bB when I lived there too but since I was limited to 1 vehicle (wife is from Tokyo and refused to get her DL) I decided to drive a kouki H9 ECR33 GTS25t Type M Skyline 4 door for a family/fun car and buy an xB when I got back stateside for a daily driver.

Enjoy the easy to access second hand parts over there, man I really really miss Up Garage, parts off, and Autobacs second hand

*edit*

You didn't happen to buy your LM GT-R from a Navy guy down in Yokosuka did you? thought you were somebody I knew there for a sec... Sweet looking LM BTW, next to the Autech 4 door GT-R that one of my favorite R33's. Damn I miss mine

No, that is the 2nd time I have been asked that - lol.
I have owned mine for over 3 years now, bought it at
a dealer in Higashi Kawaguchi. Thanks though.
