I love it. It was so nice letting fresh air and light in today.

I did a quick measurement and the glass is approximately 39 X 18. I think it's a good size for the car.

I don't really think it's fair to compare the price of a larger sunroof that is a completely different style. I thought about the panoramic one but I don't like the thought of canvas on top of the car. I wanted a more factory look. Plus I don't plan on hanging out of it.

More pics:

The whole car obviously.

Vented

Fully open.

I put the camera in my lap and shot straight up. What a view!

I went by Ziebart today and they sell one for $699 installed, but it doesn't look as good as yours, plus it does not slide inside the car like yours. It pops up and slides back, which is something I don't want. I think it would be worth the extra $$ to get one like yours. Great pics by the way.......

There's a place here in Hartsville that has $250 on their sign. I'm sure that's for a small manual pop-up but it's simple and cheap.

That sounds like the pricing I was quoted where I had mine done. $699 was for one that goes outside and there's no cover so there's always light coming in. The price jumps pretty dramatically just to get the cover inside and then even more to get the roof that comes inside the car.

It does seem a little pricey but it's so nice to have a sunroof and one that really looks like it was part of original equipment. Did I mention the features? It has one touch open and close. It has auto-close, so if you forget it closes itself a couple of seconds after the car is turned off. There are 2 comfort presets so you can program your favorite positions, and a close button so you don't have to remember whether it's the forward or reverse button to close it.

Default Sunroof comparison

I'm a bit of a fiend for sunroofs and plan on having one intalled by the summertime. There are three "available" options I've come across.
The first two are from the dealership and are called the regular sunroof and the italian sunroof. Regular averages about 1200 installed and the italian goes for 1600 installed. The regular one (which I haven't seen in person) resembles the Webasto one (it it's not the exact same) as it apparently retracts into the roof, has the interior matching fabric shade and one touch operation. The italian sunroof is the much larger one with glass over the front and rear seats. There is a stabilizing bar that seperates the two sections. The section over the front seats opens by sliding on top of the roof and the rear section does not open. There are 4 retractable "shades" (two front, two rear) that act to block out the sun. They resemble the shades on the back windows of a BMW 7-serires. This one does not have one-touch operation. I drove a dealer demo with this roof installed and found the wind noise to be excessive. There is a "wind guard" that pops up when the sunroof is open but I found this to cause noise. I guess an aftermarket wind deflector is an option. The dealer told me (don't know if this is true at every dealership) the sunroof is guaranteed not to leak for the lifetime of the vehicle.
Webasto offers two sunroofs for the xb, the one Chad has pictures of and their "panoramic" one. The panoramic one is like a rag top that slides open old-school style. Seems like the opening is huge, but I question how noisy it would be going down the road bc the canvas doesn't retract into anything, it just folds up on itself like an accordian. Haven't been quoted a price on the panoramic one, but I was told the regular Webasto was intalled by a shop in Northern VA for 800. Also guaranteed for life against leaking.
I know this is a bit long, but I've been reseraching this so....
Anyone that has pics, info, experience with the Webasto panoramic sunroof, pass it on. I'd like to know about ease of operation (one touch?) and how much noise there is at hwy speeds.
Any other interesting sunroof info would be appreciated.
Any pics would also be cool...
thanks for your time.

Does Webasto sell the dual sunroofs that both open and go into the roof? Or a glass panoramic sunroof like the Mini Cooper? Chadfo your xB looks bomb.

i think it would be impossible to have 2 sunroofs that go into the roof

because think about it

you have roof A - it slides inside the car .. the location where it would be .. would hit where roof B is installed

only option for dual sunroofs woud either be

A- a slide out sunroof one that goes out and ontop of the car for roof A and possbily a slide in sunroof for B

B- dual slide out sunroofs - that would def work

too bad it wouldn't work. But I don't really like the spoiler sunroof except for on a Celica.
