i don't seem to have that problem with mine. the seats seem to stop it from flopping back. they hit the armrest at just the right point and stop it. i dunno, maybe i installed it wrong. :?
Yeah but, if your elbow touches it when your trying to reach in it...FLOP!!! That's the only time that I feel like something is going to break.

A great upgrade would be a bracket that slid into the the base from the lid with a t- bar catch

Yup...that would be great. I honestly haven't used my XB this week. I just went out the other day to install the armrest because I was tired of looking at the box in the kitchen. This weekend is my Birthday so I will clean it up a bit and go out with my wife on Sat. Sunday I have a Club meet so some of my peeps can check the armrest out.

Worked easier for me that way.

Now you post this.

Unscreew yours and reinstall it with the stabilizers under the carpet. Should take your 10 minutes to do that and then you're done.

I sat on the side lines to see how this went. This one seems good.

Do you think we will have another group buy option on these soon? I may order a different on, the $129 is steep, plus shipping makes it really steep.

Got mine via UPS today, the one from eBay, that is.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7940007647

The quality is amazing, looks very stock.

Install took about two minutes and 1:30 of that was taking it out of the box.

Color matching seems to be good, but I was putting it in at dusk.

Very sturdy, even without any screws. I did not apply the sticky stuff which comes with it.

The interior space is not great, but enough for me. I doubt it will hold a couple cd cases, but that is not needed with my iPod having its own spot.

I have an auto, but reaching the brake would not be an issue.

It seems to sit a little low, but it's the same height as the armrest in the door, so maybe I am just tall.

I am very happy with it. I'll try to grab some pics sometime tomorrow.

an armrest as low as the one on the door would do me no good at all. I can't even phathom someone being able to use something that low. My arm rests on the top of the door ;-)

Just rode around a bit, the low armrest is actually really comfortable. Also, the top is padded really well.

How deep is this one from Ebay? I like the price better than the boomerang.

Which one has more storage?

Update on the Boomerang. Comfort is excellent for me. I drive with the seat slid all the way back and my arm comfortably rests there. but my wife can't really use the armrest when driving because she has the seat up further and just can't rest her elbow on it. Obviously this is because of the location of the parking brake and the armrest can't extend further out or it will block the brake. But she agrees that it looks great and the extra storage has been very useful for my PocketPC, GPS receiver, wires and chargers. Great to have a hidden place for those items.

The storage on the eBay one is not great, roughly the size of a brick. The bottom of which is carpeted. I have pics, but I am at work, and for some reason cannot ftp, but I will try to post some pics later tonight. In the meantine, feel free to email me at xbscion@gmail.com for some pics, or if someone wants to host them.

As far as it being short, it is, but not too low. I have not seen another armrest to compare it to. The color is nice, and fits well. My pictures make it look more blue than it actually is. I took the pictures at dusk and had a flash.

Here we go:

Again, it is not as blue as it appears, especially in the first and third ones.

lol. That is a very nice site for only one product. I have not looked at many other armrests but do they all take up the 3rd cup holder? And has anyone invented extra cup holders for the back sear passengers? When I have 5 people in my car, I get nervious that someone will spill their drink because they are eating food with the drink balanced on their leg. Maybe something to wedge in the window, or head rests??

IMO that arm rest does not look good.. It sticks out , not the right kinda material

That's why one institutes a "NO FOOD IN CAR" rule.
