I'd recommend the first gen but I'm prejudiced. Only time will tell with the 2nd gen xB. To me the 2nd gen lost all the original charm and uniqueness. Welcome and research away. Everything you need to know is here for the taking.

It depends on how much gas mileage means to you. I get 30 in my xB, but imagine a little over 20 will be what the new one gets.......

Thanks everyone, I commute about 60 miles a day total So the older Xb's sound good, but more hp in the 08's is also nice sounding.

well anyway you look at it, he's going to get more fuel efficiency, and it all depends on your taste of looks too, both will make a nice daily driver, and both will be smaller than your current car, but the new xB has more goodies as well as less of a HP reduction (More HP), if you value your power go for the 08, if you don't care at all about power and MPG is your primary concern then go for an 06.5 (while you can). For those people who are telling you about the MPG, we're talking about 6 MPG difference (estimated, and using the new EPA standards ) so it depends what you want. Either way, you will have a hall of a car, with a great community to back it up.
