OK.... Design my Scion! LOL!
Alright..... I'm ready to buy an xB.
What I DO know I want is this: It will be blue, with the arm rest , fog lights, TYC tail lights and front strut tie bar.
I am considering the upgrade on the stereo, but it really doesn't look like it is that big of a deal, so maybe not. We do have an iPod nano in the family, but is the upgrade worth it?
I am also considering the upgrade on the shocks, but I have no idea if they are worth it. Will they REALLY improve the ride that much?
I'd like the Scion Security, I think, but what exactly does it do again??
Cargo mats are a definate maybe...... But I think I can do better there aftermarket too - Or can I? Anyone know for sure?
Now, here's the BIG question.... WHAT else is good for someone interested in eeking out as much gas mileage and comfort while still being able to haul around two dogs and a teenager in style? Really be specific, please, as I am generally completely clueless about cars. If you have a suggestion for some after market stuff, pointing me in the right direction is a good thing. Just saying "After market" means nothing to me...
Same with mods. I kind of know what they are... but If I want the dogs feet to keep from scratching up the back step, what's the best way to go? That sort of thing would really interest me.
ALL ideas will be considered. Thanks.

you can do EVERYTHING you listed... better aftermarket, cheaper too. most likely the dealer will mark up everything big time and charge you out the whazoo for installation. if you are really interestd in all those parts, check the reviews/parts on the top drop down boxes at the top of the screen. you can review any part. if you need places to buy them from, just do a quick search or let us know.
intake may help you with gas mileage if you drive it..... normally. but for most, thats hard to do when you want to hear the intake whooooommp. an intake can either be a short ram or cold air(longer tube). it basically takes the blace of the stock air box.
about the ipod upgrade, probably not worth it if you dont plan on getting one.
i wouldnt upgrade the stock shocks just for the heck of it. its not worth it. if you want to make the car handle a little bit better, look for the progress rear sway bar.

On the stereo in the 2006 there is an AUX plug for MP3 players. We have the stock radio in my 2006 xB and we plug our Dell DJ's into the AUX outlet and it sounds great. The only thing is you have to control what is playing through the MP3 player and not the radio. I believe the upgraded radio allows you to control the"Ipod " through the radio.

I plan on plan purcashing a xB soon, and the radio upgrade will probably be the only option I purchase.

If you want a little bit of extra MPG an intake can help, you can do better than the dealer on that though,
floormats are a must, the dealer ones are pricey, but you will want mats that are cut specifically for the xb, so maybe worth the high dealer price, but you can find other places on line to get a better deal,
shocks/struts/lowering springs are not too bad at the dealer and if they install for free definately worth getting there.
