Default Open rear door with dead battery?

Is there a way to do it. My battery is fine, but I want to know, just in case. Also, is there a way to open the rear door from the inside?

Reminds me of the Prius only with the Prius the battery is in the trunk so you can't charge the battery unless you can open the trunk and you can open a trunk because the battery is dead. So they actually give you a jumper point under the hood. I think you're out of luck if the battery is dead, no way to open the door.

So if your battery cables are in the storage area next to the spare tire, you can't open the door to get at them. Instead, you need to open the rear door, fold down the seat, crawl back there, open the storage area with the lid towards you, and try to reach down and get them. Might be easier to do than I imagine, but it seems using a normal mechanical latch would have been easiest. What's the point of an electric lock?

Most likey to cut down on costs??? Manufacturers alway seem to do it on the most likely thing needed, that we think would only cost a couple of dollars more to do.

I never understood when the 2nd gen xB came out, it only had one reverse light in the left bumper. Why would they not also put one on the right side also for equal lighting + symmentry. To me it was a major eyesore + hated the 2nd Gen because of that stupid design. Who knows??? It must have been to cut down costs.....:?

Lol I just read both threads at ClubxB.com, then came over here and was like wtf?

For those who search and find it here, you can manually open your hatch if you pull that interior panel off. There is a small red lever you pull to open it. There is a DIY for a manual override over at ClubxB as well. Cheers!

Our '04 Sienna has a plastic door in the middle of the panel to access the manual release. For what its worth, it hasn't failed once yet, with quite a bit of use.

I read that there is a problem with the outside latch handle coming off.
