Default Painting Steering Wheel Covers

I've decided to paint my steering wheel covers and i was wondering how do you remove them without deploying the airbag...if someone can provide a detailed description that would be very helpful

its always best to dissconect the battery befor trying to remove the airbag, but ive done it with out doing it with no problems.

i can tell you this..... i worked at a salvage yard for a short time. i took the airbag out of a car, put it on the ground with a 5 gallon bucket over it and wired it to a 12v battery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it shot the bucket like 20 feet in the air.

dude thats scary. definitely disconnect the battery before trying to remove an airbag.

can you imagine sitting in the side fiddling with it and the thing blowing open right in your face. probably launch you into the backseat.

airbags can still break you nose or a rib durring en accedent, but its better then your chest being inpailed by the stearing columb.

Can't you pull the fuse too? But yes you are better off disconnecting the battery.
