Painting Steps for interior.
ne one know the steps in painting some interior parts silver? and the paint number that matches the silver dash panel? i was thinking of paint the air vents and some other minor thing silver instead of buying those dash kits.
I like keeping the texture of the plastic, so I use vinyl dye. It's like spray paint, but it supposely "bonds" with the plastic. You should check it out...
Either mask or take apart what you want to vinyl dye, then spray a light coat. Let it dry, then spray another. Repeat this another 4-6 times. No need for clear coat. It'll be dry in maybe 30 minutes to put it back in your car, but it takes longer to fully set.

Go to PaintScratch.com . You can get a flex additive mixed with the paint to adhere to plastics and rubber. I've used them in the past and their color matching is PERFECT. It's always a good idea to spray some clearcoat on top. I'm just waiting for them to get the Hot Lava color code
Get some fine sandpaper for wetsanding at your local auto store. Lightly sand the plastic to make it more poreous, but don't remove any texture. Then lightly spray the paint on, or put a coat of primer on first if you desire. Lightly wet sand, let dry, and do again and again until you're satisfied. Then put 1 or 2 good coats of clear on.
