1. http://www.adventon.com/acb/showprod...tGroup_ID=2595

2. i think it was like 175 shipped

3. yeah i recommend it

4. yes, blue filter cover supposed to help block water

5. never had an ingen but with such a small engine theres not going to be any huge difference in power or anything no matter what you go with....the only difference is going to be PRICE and SOUND...dont know how prices compare but the typhoon is silent where as the ingen can definately be heard... so its just a personal preference

Hopefully I'll install it this weekend. Just received mine today from adventon.com also. I'll let you know how it is after install it. Oh I tried pouring water over the cover thingy and it does keep out most of the water. That was running it under the kitchen faucet. It works pretty good. Don't think it would be like that in the real world so it should work great.

The sound of the Typhoon is not silent BY FAR. It is actually quite loud under heavy accelleration.

The injen cant be that much louder.

My K&N was about 175 shipped from www.adventon.com

the ingen is totally louder... the typhoon is about the same as the aem as far as sound goes at regular driving speeds... anything at full throttle is going to be noisy even the stock airbox...

The AEM from what I've seen is barely an upgrade in sound and power..

The TYPHOON is closer to the Injen in style and length... the only thing that can stop it from being louder inside is the position of the filter.... I'll tell you what, its loud oustide @ WOT. MUCH louder than stock. I remember reading from you before that it wasn't loud... so when I bought it, I wasn't expecting much.., and I was pleasantly surprised that it was quite loud! Not raspy, deep and loud.

Sounds great though. I'd like to hear the Injen though... sounds like it could be pretty interesting

I got sponsored by K&N...so i don't know the price.

Yes, it came with the filter sleeve...which helps keep the filter cleaner.

The improvement is obvious. Mine is an Auto...i can tell the improvement in acceleration.

Better than Injen? i don't know. only a DYNO test between the two will reveal that.

1. Purchased from a dealer in my area.. (not mentioning the name because I paid more than the price from Adventon.. go to Adventon)
2. More than Adventon.. go there.
3. I do recommend the Typhoon. Better acceleration... more responsive. Noticed a difference immediately after installation.
4. Yes the cover comes with the unit.
5. n/a

Very much recommended! :D

I intalled it today and found that the acceleration is smoother now. Shifting gears seems a lot better now. At first after the install I had the dumb check engine light come on but I took off the negative terminal off the battery and that appears to have solved that problem for now. Did anyone notice that idle is more erratic after first installing? Does that stop after a while. Seems to be dipping slightly below 500 RPM and then goes back up. I keep thinking the car is going to stall.

yea just let the engine and the maf sensor get use to it and it'll be better. Don't drive too hard. Back to my question, any idea if this intake would fit the xA?

So how many miles does it take before the maf sensor gets used to it? I've reset it like 4 times already. Starting to get worried a little.

leave it on for about a week. When I installed an intake, the sensor came on too. Don't worry about it. Just don't drive hard. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THIS WILL FIT THE XA?!

Well I still had the dumb lights on. I guess my car didn't want to adjust. I called K&N and told them about my situation and they said that I should uninstall it. They said sometimes the car's computer doesn't adjust to the increase in air. It was just getting to annoying for me.

Now I'm hoping when I return this thing back I'll get my money back. Hope everyone else has better luck with their install. Oh took a test drive after I installed the original back in and all the idling problems and stalls have ceased for now. I guess I'll know after tomorrow if my car is back to normal. Hopefully it will be or next trip will be to the dealer. :?

Sorry to hear that about your friend's WRX but I think he'll be ok with the power he already has.

Doesn't make much sense, I've had my K&N on for a while now and I've had NO problems with any type of light coming on.

Check to make sure that the MAF is TIGHT onto the intake pipe and that the vaccuum line is securely connected!

Check to make sure the filter wasn't over-oiled from the factory too... if it was excessive it'd throw some errors.
