Default Picked up my box on Tuesday - first thoughts

Okay, so Tuesday night I picked up my TCM box. I am loving it. Wednesday night, I put on the Injen Short Ram intake, and tomorrow (Sat.) I am putting in the short shifter. My first couple of thoughts...

***I always turn off the passenger side vents when I am driving it to and from work so I can enjoy all of the A/C, but when I close the passenger side vent, it whistles. Has anyone experienced this before? Mainly the whistle is on the second to highest speed.

***I seem to be leaving marks in the door panel, what does everyone use to clean the door panels?

***Has anyone installed a short shifter, and any info to help in the install tomorrow?

Thanks,

See you all at the next local meet!!! (NorCal Area)

I've got no whistle when i close my vent is it closed all the way ? the center vents do not close. short thro is pretty easy to install takes about 10-20 minutes and i think 12mm socket set. door panel marks are inevetible in this car , a damp rag is like a magic eraser.

Yep damp rag works well. These are the easiest cars to mark up.

Yeah, my door panels, actually all of the plastic trim , has some sort of scratches in the interior. Hmm, I'll have to check my vents. I leave all four of mine open.

Oh, and CONGRATS on the purchase!

Watch out now that you having the modding bug, your xB might look like this in some form or another.

Oh yeah, definitely got the moddin' bug. Short throw this weekend, along with removing the black tape and removing the emblems. After that is the installation of the stereo equipment, then suspension work and 20" tires and wheels. After that........Something else I am sure of!!

Try this for door scratches...

1) Using a fine tipped sharpie, mark the deep scratch in the panel.
2) Immediately wipe the scratch mark to pick up any excess sharpie ink. (The ink will stay in the scratch)

Voila! Scratch is gone! :D

First pics of my car online! All you will see is the removal of the tape and emblems. There is an Injen SR and a B&M short shifter.

Thanks everyone!

Go to the tech section and look up Door Sill Tape Removal. You could check out my pics vs a stock XB. There is a black tape that goes around the windows on the doors. Under the tape is sheet metal painted the same color as the car. Some people like removing it, some people don't. I like it.
