Default Powerdoor lock problem ...

Hello everyone.. I've been trying to search but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. My xb still has the factory remote to lock and unlock the doors. Last night I pressed the remote to lock and it didn't lock the driverside then today it didn't lock any of the doors nor did the lights flash when I pressed the button. Would anyone know how to fix that or what it could be/experience that before?

One more thing .. It's just with the remote that it won't lock except the drivers side that won't go up or down at all.

thats what i thought also about the remote... that might have to be changed too.. but would that cause the lights (back and headlights) not to blink when i press it?

also, no when i switch the lock and unlock inside the car.. the driverside does not move.. the other door lock switches do not the driverside.

that happened to me too. try to take the door lock actuator and see if you can spray it with one of those electrical cleaner.. if you can take your actuator apart with ease and just see if you can brush off the dirt..

oh yeah check your remote battery too..

My rear driver side door has never unlocked right. Is the actuator hard to get to?

well couldnt take the door panel off today.. it was raining here.. but i did change the battery on the remote.. the lights now blink.. but when i press lock and unlock nothing happens.. which leads me to think i need to replace the remote.. when i manually lock and unlock from inside the car.. they work (except the driver side) ...so now another question is... has anyone ever replaced their factory remote?? im going to call the dealership tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone has replaced theirs or know how much it would cost to replace???

i think when you replace the battery on your remote you have to reprogram it again to the receiver. but im not sure if the dealer can only do that or maybe someone has a DIY for it.. just search it..

ok well i changed the battery in the remote.. Reprogrammed it using the tutorial given above. ( thank u!) it was super easy to do it... However the driverside doorlock still does not work. It works if I pull it up or push it down or open the door with the key. I tried explaing to the husband where the Actucator was and what was said to clean it but he wouldn't let me see and I doubt he knows what or where it was. He unplugged the white wires that were connected to what hesays is the problem.. The whole actual part that has the buttons u press from inside the car. I tried looking up what the actucator looks like and from what I saw online it looks like a gun shape or something? I don't know bit it was not the part he was telling me needs to be replaced. I love my hubby but he is not car savy in the electronic department let alone scion. Good thing we have a friend who works at Toyota so I'm going to have Him look at it.

Can anyone atleast show me a pic or link to the part that would need to be replaced? (the altucator however u spell it ) so I can make sure I was looking for the right thing?

the actuater is in the door it's self..the switch your husband disconnected can easily be tested with a volt meter..test it to see if it is bad or not...
