Default Price matching

I went to my local Toyota shop down here in Santee today to order a car cover for my XB today. The parts guy tried to sell me the new Altezza rear lights for my XB for the stock price of $240.00 just like they are at all dealerships down here in San Diego. I showed him the newscion site from carson toyota and how there parts were cheaper. Altezza lights $210 instead of $240 and rear spoiler $242 instead of $333. The parts guy called his factory rep to find out how they could offer the Toyota factory parts for less since Scion is suppose to have all one pricing model. The guy finds out that if a dealership offers the price for the parts over the counter and the internet and for new car buys as the same price no discounts EG 20% off at time of sale, then the dealer can sell the Scion parts at a lower price than the MSRP. The parts guy was able to price match the carson toyota dealers price for me and I did not have to pay for shipping. So go out there and price shop and get the Scion parts for less, so you can get more stuff for your car. Just wanted to share my expierence with the community.

Nope. It all really depends on which dealer and who is the one taking the order from the dealership. There's no official Price Matching on Scions or any other car makers for that matter.

FR130 is correct, there is no official price matching poilcy in effect. When you buy your car, if the dealership does not want to match a price from say Toyota of Carson, then just buy the parts from Carson Toyota. Look around the net and ask your dealer questions, you might be able to have them match the price. I printed out the prices of Carson Toyota and they called the dealership, then they price matched. I saved $180 and did not have to pay for shipping.
