Problem with the xB sidemarkers

just attatch the (+) wire coming off the side marker light to the (+) wire of the headlight's running light wire (that's the little light behind the orange lens in the corner of the headlight housing).
Done.
You'll need for two sides, about 6' of 18? 20ga.? wire, 2 butt connectors and two crimp-on wire taps.
snip the wire off the fender light, strip back 1/2" of jacket to expose wire, get a 3' section of the extra wire, strip one end of about 1/2" jacket, put both stripped ends in the butt connector and crimp (I always put both in on the same side as it will leave the other side open for future use if ever needed - important in doing car audio!). now locate the (+) coming off the headlight marker and using the crimp on wire tap, attach the other end of the 3' wire to that wire.
repeat on other side.

***** I actually want it to blink and be on at the same time when the headlights are on. *****
----My friend and i did the same thing but it still didn't work. What happened was when we connected the (+) wire from the sidemarker to the (+) wire from the headlight, both lights were on (headlight & sidemarker). However, the blinkers didn't work and breaklights from the back were off and in the process we burnt 2 fuses. Can someone help me w/ this, thanx.

maybe you just wrote it wrong
but the directions say
+ from sidemarker to + of headlight RUNNING light (the parking lot.../turn signal_
in your response you said that you tapped into the HEADLIGHT ....
did you tap into the HEADLIGHTS positive or the turn signal in the headlights positive

no, he wrote it right. He was qouting me from another thread (just didn't include WHO he was qouting in his post)
As SOON2BxB noted, I said to tap into the RUNNING LIGHT (+) wire, not the HEADLIGHT (+) WIRE

I cannot understand what it is that you're doing that's making it not work!?!?
Wiring the side markers to function just the same as and at the same time as the headlight/taillight blinkers is incredibly easy.
The (+) that feeds power to the fender blinker needs to be clipped. The wire section coming from the harness needs to be taped off as you no longer need it. The (+) wire coming off the blinker now needs to be extended long enough so you can use a wire tap and you can tap it into the (+) wire coming out of the blinker/running light in the headlight housing. You do not need to clip that wire, just tap it with one of the wire tap clips you need to buy (you need 2).
Repeat for 2nd fender. It's jus that easy. Don't clip any ground wires, only clip the one (+) wire going into the fender blinker.
I've done this on ALOT of cars, many of them Toyota's - works the same everytime - if I was there I'd just do it for you, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
