Default Question about free xB oil changes

Do you need to get them at the dealership where you bought the car? Theres a dealership infinitely closer to my house and i'd love to do it there... How do you go about doing elsewhere if its possible?

you can go to any toyota/scion dealership you what. you will be in the computer system for all of them. just bring your owners manuel with you and they will stamp it.

They will stamp the maintenance record that is included in your owner's manual package. The oil change is free but they will try and sell you on a tire rotation for $19.

I got my first oil change while on vacation in Houston. In and out in 20 mins. on a Friday afternoon. no problemo.

I didn't get a maintenance record when I bought mine... and they don't stamp anything... and I just did my 4th oil change(4th free) when I do my next I'll let it sit and drain over night, so I won't have old oil with my nice, new synthetic

You should have gotten a maintenance guide like this one with your car - if you didn't your dealer messed up.

On page three it should say something like this:

And inside the back cover is the oil change record for your three pre-paid oil changes:

Any Scion and many Toyota dealers will cover this for you.

WRONG! they must be done within the first 36K miles or 3 yrs. if they still balk, show it to them in the manual.

Thanks! I still talked them into it, because it was at the dealership that sponsors me, but it's good info.

Read the copy of page three above. It says it right there. That is your contract with Scion. If a dealer balks, call Scion. They will straighten them right out.
