Default question on indicator light

Finally picked up my TCM xB on Sat.

totally stoked to be driving the brave little toaster around the streets of Omaha. After driving a '95 Ford Escort for the last ten years, it is a blast to drive the Xb around. Some of my fellow Omahans are going to get neck aches from the double takes. YE-AH! WHAT!?! Ok sorry I'm a little giddy from the new car smell.

Anyway I have a question for the xB veterans and motorheads on here. When I start the xB the coolant temp indicator light comes on blue for about five minutes. It has been really hot here for the past couple of days, but I don't really see how that could affect things that way. It alway shuts off, at least so far. Didn't know if anyone else had a similar issue? I might call the dealer just to check.

read the manual. The blue light will always come on when the engine is cold until the engine warms up. It will also run at a higher rpm until warm. Even if it is hot outside it doesn't mean the engine is hot at startup

that is normal.
the blue light will come on if the anit-freeze temp is below 163f.
it will always do this. its normal.

in automatic cars it also stops the tranny from shifting into overdrive.

locked.
