Default Quick Q about buying an xB

I've looked at several used xB's and figuring I wouldn't find a used one that is tempting enough, I put down a deposit on an 06 BOP xB (~16k w/ tax/lic).

I found an 05 w/ 25k miles w/ a few scratches here and there (interior/exterior), that I could buy for ~12k (before tax/lic) to make it ~13,200 after tax/lic. The scratches are nothing huge, but they are present in certain areas.

Good deal or just buy the new one? (keeping in mind the ~2500 price diff).

Forgive my repeated requests for opinions on buying a new xB, it's only that I value the SL community's thoughts and recommendations and I want to make the right decision. thanks!

depends ..i love having brand new because nobody has been in it but me. so it just depends how bad you want it and are you ok with used.

if my car has a scratch i want to be the one to put it on lol not someone else, but thats just me.

used for 13k or so is pretty darn good though, you really would be OK either choice you make.

My vote would be just go with the brand new one, used would be the quick fix...slightly cheaper..new may be something you cherish over the long run.

2500 bucks is about a 45.00 to 55.00 difference in payments I think...somewhere around there. though I could be wrong i used a online loan calculator tool to get that...to me i would rather pay 300 bucks a month for brand new...than pay 250 a month for something used with scratches

Thanks for the comments.

I am somewhat of a perfectionist, so I know what you mean about the scratches. But part of me knows it'll get scratched anyway, and with the extra 2500, I could get those fixed possibly. I don't mind waiting for a new xB to come in, but I don't want to pass up a "bonus" $2500 for a car thats just about as good as new.

I'm still not sure either way, but others opinions help!

Interest rates differ betreen new and used cars. Also you can finance a new car longer. If you need a calculator go to bankrate.com The have the calculators you need. Plus 25,000 miles is alot for an 05. Your warrenty is about up. May take you 2 years to drive that much. Get the new car.

Ya, I'm kind of leaning towards new. Although really I have ~11k saved, so I'd only be financing roughly 2k for used or 5k for new.

Still open for more opinions.

edit:

Called the owner and declined.
Guess I'm waiting ~6weeks for my new 06 BOP! It's like christmas

Don't sweat it...... It'll be worth the wait. Something about tthat new car smell that you just don't get anywhere else. I was told on both of mine that the wait would be 6+ weeks and both came in at about 3 weeks. Hag loose ad enjoy the anticipation.

^^^^^Don't know about yours but mine is 17 months old with 20K miles and still has the "New Car Smell"
Good choice go with the new one. Why worry about how it was broken in and how it was maintaned or driven. It's not worth taking the chance. Maybe if it was older with more miles and alot less $$$

He's right... I did not notice the mileage but 25k is about two years worth of mileage on a 1 year old car.

Indeed, I would recomend going new. The diff. in price is not enough to make up for the possible problems created by previous owner.

go new, you'll love it and the 2k won't make that big of a difference. 25k on a 1 yr. old car, you probably would be spending that 2k on it sometime soon. like it was said before the warranty is almost up.
