Default Rear Window Washer question

Does your's actually spray or just dribble out? Mine has dribbled since Day 1. Took it in for the 5000 mile "checkup." Service Dept. says they "went out and checked the other ones on the lot and they all dribble"... I'm not inclined to believe them.

I don't know if this helps you out, but my xB rear wiper also drips out and just kind of rolls down the window...I checked into with the Toyota service tech upon my last oil change, and upon inspection I was told the same thing;"This is the way they are designed to function, there is nothing wrong."

I guess we're both in the same boat here on this one...

My rear window nozzle drips out the water. I guess it's normal then.

It's normal. . . what do you expect? To make a stronger jet, it need another pump in the back, adding weight and cost. Secondly, why would you need it to jet? It'll squirt onto the window and roll right off it. The best effect is to let the wiper distribute the washer fluid. The best rear washer I've used was on an old Previa that actually squirted the fluid out of little jets on the wiper itself. COOL!

Exactly what do you mean by "dribble"? Mine doesn't spray out with any real force, but I wouldn't call it a dribble. It's more of a straight-down stream. Like there's a small chlid peeing on the back window. If I time the stream with the swipe of the wiper arm just right, it does a good job.

Ditto here - just runs down in a stream, not a spray like the front.

has anyone tried to swap the rear washer sprayer with one from the front. I was thinking about doing it. Nice 3 spray over the one dribble shot.

Yeah. . . a stream. I don't think a spray would effectively clean the window. . . I think it would keep going with it's downward force and leave your tailgate nice and dirty

I would say it's more like drool dribbling down the face of a baby. If the stream shot out, it would probably all fly higgeldy piggeldy if the car were actually moving. As it is, it works fine.

That's the normal function of the rear washer/wiper device.
Little dribbly dribbly wipey wipey. All Good! :D
