Was wondering when Scion will release the 2006 models. I know Toyota starts shipping around June, but will Scion follow this pattern. I ask because there's been indication of a reworked xA in the press:

The 06 model will come out around May, and this will be it's last year since it will be replaced for a new model. (can you say vitz?)

As I recall, the 05s came out last year around May-ish (cuz I got mine in June)...

My guess for the '06 xA is that it will be a LOT like the 4-door vitz.

I'm so glad I've got my xA! With a limited run of a couple of years (and low sales volume at that), our xA's will be one of the most unique things on the road in a couple of years!!!

 

Word. The closest thing now a days is probably a two seater sport like the miata or the mr2. I would buy one of these in an instant, but for my job, I often have to pick people up from the airport, and can not afford a second vehicle. Without a back seat or a little hatch room (like the crx), these two cars just can't handle the luggage.

Take the XA, give it 20 more horses, make it a two door (you can keep the back seat if you want), and get it CLOSER TO THE GROUND (why the conspiracy to sell springs, xa, xb, corolla, they are all sky high) and you have the modern crx.

Dear Toyota,

Please do not turn the xA into a fat lump like the vitz. Give us a more affordable mini, with more cargo room. And an armrest and cruise control.

i think the Vitz lookz good.. it looks better than the xA IMO*.. [dont hate me now ]
and the new interior of the Vitz lookz awesome, console, steering wheel, door panel.. they look niceee,, i for one would not mind if the replacement is the Vitz.. but they gotta have the seats like they are now though.. the seats in the Vitz look horrible..

i think i'll hold out for the new models to roll out instead of buying one now.. but i love SCIONs so i dont think any of the models would make me regret anything.

 

So let me make sure I've got this straight:

Thanks for clarifying, the above posts were a bit confusing. I'm really concerned about this, because my husband and I have decided on the xA, but we can't buy it until July! Will the xA as we know it exist then?

Any other rumors as to what features the 2006 xA will have? Cruise perhaps? Might soften the blow a bit !
