Is there anyway to reprogram the factory alarm in my xB to have the honk honk when the dorrs lock? I dont have time to go by the dealers to see if they can do it. I hardly have time to get the oil changed.

 

In the tech section the instructions show s buzzer that is to be hooked up to the security system. But mine doesn't have that feature according to the dealer. Hmmm maybe this weekend I'll have to get in to the wiring to see.

if your car has toyota security system, then you have the beep
if you just have keyless entry, you dont have the beep

 

well i have the standard keyless entry and I added Scion Security. I would just like a horn honk or somethig audible when my doors lock. So is there anyway to do that?

 

I'd like to know about doing that also.

 

my xB used to honk everytime i armed/disarmed the Scion Security. I had the dealer disable the honk. I dont know how they did it though.

 

I have the security system on my xB. It does not beep. I have talked to the dealer and Scion corporate about it and they said the mention of an available buzzer in the manual is incorrect and the xB is not available with one. The xA security does come with one, though.

 

I was told by someone, but i cant remember who. That programming the alarm to have the horn honk was an option. I just wish i could remember who told me that.

 

I should have put this a while back but I was informed by my dealership that horn honk is not available on the xb. So I guess I will never have it.

 

ok im not a hundred percent sure but you might be able totap into the wiring that makes your locks shut and lights flash when you arm you car and run it through your horn but not totally sure but it is a good guess but i will check with one of my buddies that i work with for a commercial security company wen he gets back n town

you would need to find the wire that has a + or - signal when thelights flash and tap off of one of them and hook up a relay to your horn, then it will honk when the lights flash

 

just be carfull thet you dont make the horn beep with the turn signal that could not be fun
