Default Rims question

I looked through the FAQ on this, but I'm still kind of confused, especially by the first reply. Basically, I'm thinking about getting the xA with the steelies for winter, but buying a good set of rims for summer cruising. I was looking at www.wheelmax.com and found these:

5Zigen FN-01R-C

I was thinking either 16x7 205/45/16 for $1060 or 17x7 205/40/17 for $1099

I've never been good at ordering wheels and tires, and I have no idea if this would work. Also, please vote in the pole!

Tyler

PGP = Phantom Grey Pearl.

Take a side shot of your car, then photochop the rims to your car to see how they would look. That's a tough color combo to match up.

Black or Bronze would look the best IMO...

Thanks for the quick replies!

Actually, the car is on the way...should be in my garage later this next month. I was just looking for options now, so that once the car is paid for I can just order the rims. Will those sizes work though? That's the thing I'm concerned with.

And the car will be Phantom Grey Pearl

I was thinking black would look good, since the exterior already has traces of black in it, and the interior is black...but I've always liked bronze rims, but have never had them.

Keep the votes and comments coming!

Thanks!

Tyler

Anyone here with any photoshop skills...can you take that one blue kitted xA (think it's the JDM one in the gallery) and just change the color to a silver. Those rims are bronze, aren't they?

I have a black xA with black 6 spokes and polished lips, I like a lot. I would go with the bronze for a grey car and I suggest 215/45/17 tires, nice fit. Also spend the $$ for some Eibach springs, well worth it.

Is it just me, or does that grey look really tan in sunlight?

EDIT - and I agree the xA looks 100x better lowered. I was going to do the TRD suspension upgrades from factory. Also, to clear up my confusion, will any 4x100 wheel package from Wheelmax fit with that tire choice? I think I'll go with the rims I posted in bronze.

Does anyone here have their xA lowered? Stock ride height will give you a nose bleed at those altitudes. They need at least a 2'' drop it seems. Just get rid of all but a tiny bit of wheel gap to give it a nice stance.

Almost everyones xA's are lowered around here. I found that much more than 1.5" drop causes lots of dragging of the front bumper. I like Eibach springs, I have them on 3 of my 5 cars.
