The Rivalry Question

Based on size, marketing and mission statement, I'd think the Honda Fit is actually about the Box's #1 "rival".
I'm wondering if some of the vehicles listed (H2, Mercedes, etc.) are supposed to be a joke...or is the poster actually Corky from "Life Goes On"???

Since there is no official basis for the rivalry I will thrown in the R33 and R34 Nissan Skyline GTR (now hear me out here)
If money were no object that is the car because so few people know anything about it and the fact is it is THE KING of cars (IMO) and so unique
I cannot afford one-but the first gen xB is cool because so few people actually know anything about it and it is so unique-yet there are days when I look at it and realize this xB will be my car forever and maybe some day I will add a GTR to go in the garage with it.

this is all just part of scion's plan to be the only car company on earth where all the model-owners despise one another.
xA owners hate because their car was supposed to be the popular one, but is constantly lost in the right-angled shadow of its more-popular siblings;
xB1 owners hate because their car was revolutionary, iconic, totally different, and annihilated for no good reason;
xB2 owners hate because all the gen 1 owners hate them ;
xD owners hate because somewhere out there is a Fit with a better options package; and
tC owners are generally 16, and hate everyone on principle.
You just don't get this kind of intensity with other car brands!

I don't dislike the xB2. I dislike the xB2 owners who continue to try and ride the xB wave of cool nicknames. They try very hard to connect and never seem to understand why xB owners are so passionate about our classic xB's. Bless their hearts.
The xB verse the xB2-I see it as a blessing in a few ways. It proved that our first gens are special-there won't be a series 2 of our car (the new xB being a different animal). 2nd-the new xB people will never know what an original xB feels like (unless they owned one) so I see it like watching a broadway play of star wars (still the same plot etc) but not nearly the thrills, specialness and heart.

That's the reason I put it in the same catagory as the Skyline GT-R (33 or 34) there is a new one coming but it is just not the same. The new one is left hand drive, is probably one of the best cars ever built but the heart that the R33 had just isn't there in the same way.
I belive they are just icons (the first gen xB as well) that cannot be duplicated in any way that does them justice.
It's like making that one perfect plate of nachos-don't know exactly what ended up in it but you haven't made any before or since that tasted that great.....

Come on now be nice to the xb2. I loved my first gen, but was way too slow and couldn't justify spending upwards of five to ten g's just to squeak out anothe 50hp's. I love the new xb but miss the old one. I was hoping the new one was going to be more boxy and mabey have the 1.8. But the 2.4 is awesome. If you haven't driven one, do so, and you will. Don't hate so much It's still a scion.

It's just NOT a worthy xB replacement. The xB WASN"T suppossed to have a replacement with the same name.
