I have been aching for fat, round, brushed metal roof rails that resemble the rails on the bB Open Deck. I saw some today on a Mitsubishi Outlander.

There is some metal shop that was braggin about something
very similar to that. It looked a bit too industrial for me, but
similar to what you are lookin for.

Whoa, I just looked up the price for those rails if you buy them from Mitsubishi-- $318 apiece. That's $318 for left, $318 for right. Nuts. They can't really cost that much, can they?

 

Yeah, I dig that rack. I pm'd the guy and am waiting to hear back from him.

But I would still much much prefer to have permanently installed rails rather than a guttermount rack.

I'm talking to a guy who works for Mitsu about whether the rails would fit on the box. I'll keep you posted.

 

I saw a set of outlander racks on ebay a while back for about $100. You might have to modify (file) the feet to fit the roof contour of the xB.

Yep, Jon beat me to it! That's the Ivan rack and his parts are damn good. I run his underhood mirror and get nothing but compliments. Good quality stuff from a good quality guy.
