Default The roof rack of my dreams-- does it exist????

I have been aching for fat, round, brushed metal roof rails that resemble the rails on the bB Open Deck. I saw some today on a Mitsubishi Outlander.

Photo here: http://www.pdxguide.com/cars/Mitsubishi/OUTLANDER.jpg

Has anyone seen something like this on an xB? Can it be done?

There is some metal shop that was braggin about something
very similar to that. It looked a bit too industrial for me, but
similar to what you are lookin for.

Sorry I don't remember the name, but it's around here.

Whoa, I just looked up the price for those rails if you buy them from Mitsubishi-- $318 apiece. That's $318 for left, $318 for right. Nuts. They can't really cost that much, can they?

But I would still much much prefer to have permanently installed rails rather than a guttermount rack.

Thanks for digging it up.

No problem.
I'm sure if you really wanted to you could weld them on.

I'm talking to a guy who works for Mitsu about whether the rails would fit on the box. I'll keep you posted.

I saw a set of outlander racks on ebay a while back for about $100. You might have to modify (file) the feet to fit the roof contour of the xB.
