Default Scion Security problem

Well heres my problem I have a 06 Xb with the scion security. Everytime I would activate or deactivate the alarm, the horn would always honk. But recently it stopped honking only the lights flash on and off. I have no idea what may be causing this. So if anyone could help I would great appreciate it. Thanks

i have an 06 with scion security, my horn has never honked when activating or deactivating. The horn only blares when the alarm is set off..

If there is a way to enable "horn honk on activation/deactivation" i would really like to know.

PLEASE SOMEONE IF YOU KNOW HOW TO ACTIVATE THIS, PLEASE PM ME

with the scion security, there is no "alarm siren". The car horn honks when the alarm is set off, but there is no "beep" when arming and dis-arming. I'll probly wire up a piezo to the door lock wire so i can get some kind of tone when arming and disarming. if the rs3 didn't come with "scion security" i would have just gotten a better alarm that had the feautures i wanted, but since it was included in the package, the price was right...

Please let us all know. Mine (06 XB) would be silent a few times (good for privacy or late nights) but that was a loong time ago. No clue how, but it did for a small period, it honks everytime now. There must be a way for silent activation / de activation.

Mine beeps when you turn it on and off. I think I read somewhere that there is a way to turn it on and off buy turning your key to on then locking the doors then putting it on accessory and unlocking the doors... that kind of thing but I don't remember where.

I did find this though, if you go to page 5 it clearly says there is a buzzer that chirps when arming and disarming (I have). I don't see why it says "If" you have one though. Why would they include it in some kits and not all???

First off, the Toyota VIP alarm system for the xB Classic (2004-2006) doesn't have a buzzer/beeper/whatever as a part of the system. (The xA did.)

I've heard some folks say that their xB Classic honks on lock and unlock, but so far, every time, those systems have NOT been the stock Scion alarm...

The Owner's manual for the alarm should have come with the alarm kit, and should have been given to you by the installer.

There is a copy (.pdf) of the Alarm Owner's Manual that I got with my alarm system if you click Scion Docs in my sig...

Mine used to honk, Stopped recenly. Found that no horn sounded if door opened. Basically, no alarm, I was just activating the auto lock/unlock. Alarm is dead. It is the OEM Scion one, dealership installed. I believe it is covered under my extended warrantee, but don't trust dealership enough to leave my car. Have another 17K to decide.
