Glad I'm not the only guy with that issue. I wasn't using my a/c much due to the hours that I work. I mainly just ran the fan ith the fresh air since it never really got that hot in Atlanta during April and May. I like keeping my windows up all the time, I like the new car smell to stay a s long as possible. Heck, I didn't know how to turn on my windshield wipers since it honestly hasn't rained in a couple of months. Plus I use RainX anyway, but my windshield was a little dirty, so I did my wipers, and the rear wiper turns on. I finally caught on how to do the front wipers. Kinda funny!

i've had my 2005 xb three years now. 27,000 miles. No problems, never took to the dealer for anything other than tire rotation and alignments.

Almost 10,000 miles and no problems as of yet! I think Toyota has another reliable car on their hands!

I fully intend for this to be a reliable car, just a few hickups really isn't that bad. I was just making a statement and giving a heads up to the rest of you that if you encountered it, you would know someone else had that problem.

Thanks for all the responses.

Unfortunately, I can only include survey responses in my analysis, and haven't started surveying xB owners yet because too few are signed up to help out.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Now within ten cars of getting started with the 2005.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

Got my XB June of 2004. It had 360k on it when i got it, it now has 61k. Just the oil, brake pads, plugs, and air filter have been changed. ZERO problems and still runs like a champ. I've put my box through hell and back, floods, cold winters and hot summers, and not to mention I've hit every damn pot hole that exists in the state of NY, lol. I am very heavy on the pedal too. No noises or squeeks. As long as you know the basics of these cars they should give you no issues. My box runs solid

Thanks for the responses.

Now just three short of getting started with the 2006-2006.5. Hopefully next month. The 2005 is also now two-thirds of the way.

Not necessarily. The 2007 Camry V6 isn't faring so well.

Every time I've updated results recently, the repair rate for the 2007 Camry has increased, especially for the V6. Transmission issues with that engine.

I've owned my XB for over 3 years and it has 40k on it.

I had a problem with the muffler tip rubbing against the bumper cover when I brought it home. Fixed that myself to save me a trip to the dealer.

I've taken it in for a rattle under the hood twice now with no fix for the problem.

I had a check engine light issue which was caused by a faulty 02 sensor.

I now have an exhaust leak between the header and downpipe due to deteriorated donut gasket.

I've noticed some clutch slippage under heavy acceleration going into 3rd gear.

I also hate the Goodyear tires that came stock as they are useless in the snow.

Overall if I had it to do all over again this is not the car I would by.
