Default Seat brackets

I have only seen the seat brackets once,( on my test drive) but it seems to me that it could be cut down to lower the seat height. I am 6'3" tall, and would like to sit a little, or a lot, lower. Has anybody done this, and if so, or not, do you have any recommendations?

it can work your way around with a welder you can cut them yourself. you could also try aftermarket seats and have a shop weld you in a seat bracket.

Just looking at the brackets, do you see that there may be room to cut them down? If someone could post a pic, that would be most helpful. I'm not too worried about moving the jack, either.
I do o.k. with a welder, so that's not an issue, I was just wondering if there is room to move the seat down.
I would go with aftermarket seats, but I want the fabric to match, and don't want to spend a fortune reupholstering them.
Thanks for the help

Joe

FINALLY IM NOT ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried that route, they said they couldn't do much, they always had problems with the 4 runners too...

At that time, it was just the passenger side (1900mi) now since about 4000mi the drivers side started doing it...

I located the problem, it's the rivets that hold the rail to the brackets... sure you could have them tack welded and that'd be the end of it... or sneak grease into it...

Why would you want to lower your seat :?: thats one of my favorite things about the BOX, No more climbing in and out like other cars on the market. I'm 6' 3" also and have plenty of headroom left.
