I think the way the side button works, is that it pushes a
shaft with a plastic nub at the end that's cut at a 45 degree
angle. So technically the button is verticle under your stock
****.

Take your stock one off and see before you order me thinks.

If it fits, would look great. I just covered mine to match new interior. Black/White.

I think the overdrive button could be moved, it's only a switch.

I switched automatic ____ ***** on my xb. Raven is right about the button technically being vertical. Also, I moved my old button to a location under the ebrake handle. I also have the button on the new **** hooked up as well. So theoretically the **** could work, its just a question of if it comes with the right adapters to fit our oval bar.

Here's an auto shift ****:

He moved the OD button to the cup holders. I also found this one with a OD button on it.

I posted this a while back and found some that may work:

I would guess those wires run either way. All the button is, is a switch that allows current (or a ground) to pass through to close a circuit, and engage or dis-engauge the OD.

Well, i've actually tried to swap shift **** for my automatic and i didn't like how it was set up so i returned it and put the stock one back on. If you want the O.D option, you'll need to re-locate it to a different position. If not, you'll need to either wire it to be left on or left off. With an automatic, if you are doing a lot of interstate driving i would recommend it left on. But its also nice to have that option because you never know when you'll need it...or not need it.

I agree, I do use mine when I need it. These aren't the fastest cars in the world. I need my OD for passing people most of the time. If I do buy an aftermarket Auto **** I'll relocate the ODB somewhere.

Yeah, probably the best place to re-locate it would be either right there by the E-brake or cup holders. That way you aren't going all throughout the dashboard just to re-locate.

Yup. It seems most aftermarket auto ***** don't have the same "action" as the stock. What I did was to splice into the stock OD wires. I hooked one set of wires to the new ***** button and the other I ran under the center cup holder boot (what ever its called) and mounted under the ebrake handle. Both work. I prefer the "action" on the stock button and use it if I have to turn off od quickly. Its actually a convenient location especially if you have an aftermarket armrest because your hand is resting right there.

instead of calling me a dummy any help to figure out which wire is which? they both have polka dots so that doesn't help.
either way will work.
