Default side markers

I don't think they have a small enough dual filament bulb.

Pop them out, drill a small hole in the back to install your favorite color LED. This has been on my box to do list for over a year now. I'm going with white and wiring it to the parking lights. That way the turn signal will still do its thing.

What about wiring them to a switch and putting leds in them? That way you could turn them on an off as you please. Just a thought.

this is probably your best bet you don't want ot lose functionality of the sidemarker... this is probably what i would do.

no, but you can get led bulbs for the turn signals that get brighter when they blink, look just like dual filament bulbs.

I haven't seen them for the sidemarkers. You'd have to add wiring anyway, so you might as well do the rewire like the link I posted above, then they will stay on with headlights and blink off when you signal.

Actually, we were talking about keeping the sidemarkers on all the time. Somebody said dual filament LED's do not exist and I was just pointing out that they do. The bulb in the side marker is wedge base, but much smaller than the dual filament one that is used for the brake lights.

There are only two wires going to the side marker. A dual filament bulb would require running an additional wire and modifying the fixture to accept a much larger bulb which would probably not fit into the housing anyway.

lol so then you cannot purchase an LED dual filament light that fits in the original socket of the sidemarker lights that gets brighter when they blink.

I think that's the short version of what I was trying to say.

I just wanted to be sure they were aware that it's not that simple.

Default side lights

Your parking light wire for the + side We have wiring codes here somewhere for the correct wire color. The ground is there for the turn signal bulb. That's white.

They make dual-color LEDs that have three leads: two positive leads (one for each color) and a common ground. If you can find some that light up in amber and (white?) then you can put them in. You'll still need to run a switched wire to turn the second LED on,
